There have been 19 LSU-Bama matchups since 2005… FIVE (5) overtime games

A lot of high drama great games for sure. Is there any other CFB series that has produced more OT games in the series?? (I can’t think of any, can y’all?)

It’s crazy to me that 25% of LSU-Bama games go to overtime since 2005.

How about top 5 matchups ?
6 of last 13 both in top 5. 11,11,12,15,18,19.

Maybe OSU-Mich?

I was at 4 Of the 5 OT games. Thankfully missed last year.

2005 was particularly brutal. That whole season was fools gold for Bama fans.

This game honestly has felt like the Ohio St/Michigan matchup of the south for a while now.

There is hatred but not quite to the level of Ohio St/Michigan but when it comes to impact of the two schools playing it's always felt that way to me.

LSU isn't quite to the level of program tradition that Bama, Ohio St and Michigan are but they're sort of close.

I'll relent on Bama and Ohio State. I even understand mentioning Michigan.

But we have won 3 National Championships since Michigan won their last. Their last before that was like 1948.

Michigan has the blueblood era of the 20's to 70's history, but LSU has been far more succesful in the recent modern era.

I mean, ill give ya auburn, even though they have pretty much given up at football at this point. But Tennessee, c'mon. You guys have struggled more with ole miss than Tennessee in the Saban era. LSU has been the biggest test on your schedule for the last 15 years.

Ohio State vs Michigan is "The Game."

LSU vs Alabama is THE Game.

I remember when Tenn-Ala was a big game. But that was a long time ago.

In the 21st century, LSU-Bama has been a more meaningful game than Tenn-Ala.

In the 21st century, Bama has won the most NC's, but LSU has won the second most NC's.
