Actually the media and Arkansas-LSU TV game announcers were the ones that started and encouraged this whole thing. When they showed the outfielder chasing it, the announcers said 'maybe this is some kind of sign for LSU. Maybe it'll give them a spark.'

Whenever I think my life isn't that great, I come to the Rant and read Aggie comments. It makes me realize that it could be a lot worse if I were born an Aggie fan.
