We can agree to disagree. Consistent play making is required at the WR position, in regards to being proven IMO. He may have all the "talent" in the world, but until he does it on a weekly basis, over and over again, he's not proven. In my book, which doesn't count for much.

Ya'll act like this bullshite determines the outcome of the damn games.

This time last year, Bama>LSU.

That didnt matter when Bama ran for 100 yards and LSU put 225 on bama. It didnt seem to bother the great Les Miles while he was outcoaching Saban. Jefferson and Randle weren't that impressed with all those first round DBs.

So you remember specific Alabama games and their outcomes when you were still in the cradle? Impressive.

Stars don't mean shite once they step on campus. It then turns to player development, and how they're used in the given schemes. We have heard the same stuff about Shepard year after year, much like UF fans have heard the same about Debose. At one point, you just have to say, prove it.

Good thing he didn't, not that I would know anything about that anyway.

You expect him to do this with the people that have been throwing him the ball?

It doesn't matter to me. Preseason hype, blah blah blah. It's just fun to talk football. I'm tired of all the bull shite cheating threads and expansion threads. We're talking football in here.

Yep. Y'all still hung up on one play. In the 2010 FBS rankings the Bama defense was 3rd overall, averaging 13.5 allowed points per game. Every one of them comes back, except Dareus.

Must not bite.....

frick

Bama and LSU run different defensive schemes. Both aggressive, but Chavis loves to go zone on certain downs which can be seen as "bend but not break."
It is this defense that the term 3rd and Chavis was born in UT.

So while both are excellent defenses, LSU's numbers will take a hit in the long run. Both Defenses have excellent DB coaching, but where Bama has the edge is in the middle at LB. though Chavis prefers a small faster LB, LSU doesnt have that Dominant Mike we would need to control the middle as Shepard did last year. Instead we have a former S splitting time with a MLB for the Mike position. Thus the DL for LSU will have to get plenty of Pressure, possibly more than last year, or the Offenses will eat us alive.

For Bama what many think is their greatest strength could become an Achilles heel. Though their secondary has stars, for the most part they have shown very little other than a handful of INT. Blown coverages against the better WR's and QB's of the league isn't something to feel upset about, but it deserves mention nonetheless. Can those DB's get rid of the scrutiny and blown coverages that plagued them throughout the year?

Unless both young, but talented DLines get to the QB, both secondaries could become an afterthought. This leaves Bama an edge with their LB core.

That LB group is the only part of Bama's defense that puts them over the top.

The DLines are both young and very talented. There isn't a point in arguing which secondary is better. Both have veteran Safties ranked number one in their classes. Both have a CB with 6'3 ceiling, both have a CB that is deemed a 1st round pick.

Now LSU loses possibly their best CB if all time, yet returns a solid nucleus of DB's with loads of experience on the field, but must adapt now to starting roles. Though the loss of Shepard in the Middle could prove more costly than anyone realizes.

This is all IMO, and frick I bit

Not at all. It's not Randle's fault that Jordan Jefferson blows, but I cannot sit here and rave about Randle because I haven't seen anything consistently for me to buy stock. I have seen glimpses, but not much more.

I'm know about those incredible Bama DBs. Without them, LSU would not have been in the top 115 for passing offense last season.

Mostly true.

But, Bama's LB's will the the ones putting pressure on the QB, in Saban's system, and, as you've pointed out, we're stacked at that position. The defensive line is responsible for being massive and not allowing runs up the middle. According the the scales, they're very good at this.
