2012 through current season, rankings based on AP poll, postseason excluded (as this would give Alabama a huge advantage given LSU's lack of a single significant postseason over this time period):

LSU: has played 4 non-conference opponents ranked at the time of the game. Only one of those (Wisconsin) finished the season ranked.

Alabama: has played 4 non-conference opponents ranked at the time of the game. Three of those (Michigan, Wisconsin, and USC) finished the season ranked. USC finished #3 (Alabama won 52-6).

LSU: has played 24 conference opponents (not named Alabama) ranked at the time of the game.

Alabama: has played 24 conference opponents (not named LSU) ranked at the time of the game.

Conclusion based on facts: LSU has not had a tougher non-conference or conference schedule than Alabama over the past 8 seasons, except that they have to play Alabama every year and Alabama gets to play LSU.

Most difficult non-conference opponent scheduled through 2025:

LSU: Texas, UCLA, New Mexico, Army, UCLA, Clemson

Alabama: USC, Miami, Texas, Texas, Wisconsin, Wisconsin

Conclusion based on facts: Alabama's future schedules are more difficult than LSU's, except that Alabama gets to play LSU every year and LSU has to play Alabama.

Wait... that USC team we clobbered finished third?? Definitely didn’t know that, I thought they finished unranked to be honest.

ETA: good info OP. Nice to see arguments supported by facts.

Not really complaining about past seasons but even you have to admit that this year’s schedule is hilariously easy up to this point

Lol this guy has to go back 8 years to compare schedules just to make himself feel better bc he knows bama hasn't played near the schedule that LSU has this season.

Are you high??

Clemson alone makes the schedule much more harder.. No?

Why are you digging so deep into the past btw??

I really thought this thread was going to be about this season..

Please compare this season. Thanks.

How many non-conference games has Alabama played on the road in the last decade?

Wait... so you’re saying teams that we already played and beat are somehow going to be tougher when yall play them? In the future?

There is no comparison on the 2019 schedule...

Up to this point, LSU has played one. Alabama has not.

Clemson, on the other hand, has played high school teams.

Pretty convenient to not include 2011 where bama had a cupcake schedule and LSU played two additional conference champs.

Also, who gives a shite about the previous years, put up this year’s schedule and compare.
