Solid win over a pretty decent LSU team.
Lacey continues to progress as he gets more comfortable. I've been impressed from the first game by his defense and decision making but he's just beginning to look like a 5 star recruit on the offensive end.
I could say the same thing to slightly lesser degree about Randolf.
Releford is playing the way he did last year over the past few games.
Green seems bothered by the shoulder but brings it on the defensive end more than ever and looks for the extra pass on offense. I love that.
The only negative is that once the lead was around 15-20 points there seemed to be a huge loss of focus with Mitchell and co. seemingly more interested in highlight passes than keeping the game on ice.
LSU played tough defense but was extremely bothered by the Alabama pressure defense. A lot of their turnovers led directly to layups and they never really got into any sort of offensive rhythm.
The big center Hamilton has good touch but wasn't really much of a physical match for Green on either end of the floor.
Stringer hit some crazy difficult shots. Wow! And Hickey kept LSU in it for a while in the first half making athletic plays and getting space for his shot. They didn't get much help though on the offensive end and turned the ball over a bunch themselves as well.

quote:His 3 ball wasn't falling tonight but his midrange jumper looked good. Randolph also shot decently tonight and we'll need that moving forward.

quote:I think our coaching staff finally got it through his head that he needs to drive to the bucket on a consistent basis for this team to be good. He can get a layup basically any possession he wants to. He's just gotta stay aggressive and he's done that the past few weeks.

quote:His midrange shot was nice before he hurt his shoulder, but ever since he hurt it, his shot really hasn't been that close. He also tries to force the action every time he touches the ball which is why he's been turning it over so much.
Green seems bothered by the shoulder

When you came on screen, my husband was in the kitchen and I actually rewound it so he could see the sign.
You do need to clean up that penmanship, however.

You must be bored tonight.
Let's just keep this team going. Tough stretch coming up.

That's what I get for coming right back to the dorm after the game.
quote:Yep...@ MSU, Vandy, then @ UK. I'm hoping we can go 2-1 in this stretch but even 1-2 wouldn't be terrible. We just need to get a win.
