Louisiana Purchase 2.0

The original version was for $15 million, created all or most of 15 states and doubled the current size of the country at the time
Fast forward a couple hundred years ...
College football coach Brian Kelly is owed $54 million to no longer coach football at Louisiana State University
The college and/or state of Louisiana is paying more than 3x the amount of the Louisiana Purchase for an employee to do nothing
Absolutely nothing
Laissez les bons temps rouler!

This is easily the most north of 50 IQ post a tea sip has made on this site in a month.
And for that, I thank you.

The kicker is that they still use Napoleonic Code versus English Common Law.
Third world country.

Interesting fact about the Louisiana Purchase, the original offer was for $30M and didn't include the land that would eventually become Louisiana. The French were desperate and countered at $15M on the condition that we take Louisiana too.
Really should be called the Louisiana Compromise

Louisiana is the only US State that uses the Napoleonic Code, so I figured that the “state” was implied for all but the lowest IQ swamp trash.
