I'm gonna have to say the PMAC....
hate to pull the "in my day, son" card the PMAC was #1 in the SEC. There was a reason it was called the 'Deaf Dome'. The opposing teams' radio crews used to raise cain about having to sit in front of the student section.
But...that was 30 yrs ago.

I support this idea. Let's get this done!

So less than 1/4 of the total posts so far? Again, pretty typical for this shithole. Fwiw, from what I've seen I would go with UF or Arky, but that's just on tv. I certainly don't care enough about college bball to go to an away game...
Amen to that! Infact, I can't stand the game.
The last BB game I attended was to was to watch Pistol Pete, in the old Florida Gym in 1966.

UF isn't as loud as the MS schools. It's just a terrible set up for noise.

When were you at UF for a basketball game? I'm not aruguing with you becuase only a decibel meter solves this argument and IDGAF.
I was just curiuos what game you were at? Our noise depends on the situation just like most arenas. Tight game against a good oppenent = lots of noise.
Blowout against a bad opponent like UG = not much noise

It's definitely Bud Walton for the SEC, but the funny thing is Bud Walton isn't even the loudest basketball arena Arkansas has.
Barnhill used to be one of the loudest arenas in the entire country. Your ears would ring for days.

My grandfather took me to games at Barnhill.
When I was really little, they made me wear ear plugs.

I wish!
Kids are at live games playing games on their phones and not even engaged in the game. I weep for the next generation.

I miss the 90's at the Hump. Damn

Now I get it. Nobody is loud since the 90s. Noted...

So going by this thread it's.. Arkansas followed by Florida as the loudest basketball venues. About what I thought going by tv.

Any arena less than 15k fans isn't in the running. There are SEC arenas that aren't even as loud as the lower bowl of Bud Walton.
It requires a large arena, and fans who give a shite about basketball to be a loud arena. Once in a while doesn't count.
So its pretty much down to Bud Walton or Rupp. They are the only NBA sized arenas, besides Thompson Bowling. And Tenn fans like women's bkb more than mens.
