He got hit with a line drive, WTF does that have to do with umpires
Pitch before, batter asked for time and stepped out of the box after the pitcher had started his pitching motion. Time was not called. That’s a called strike by rule. Would have been strike 3. The ball that ended Dollanders season should never have happened. That’s why it’s an ump issue.

If so no big deal. We will slide Blade Tidwell in that spot. Tidwell was a pre season all American and projected high 1st round pick. He gets hurt before season and all of sudden our 2 freshman and 1 sophomore show out and when Tidwell healthy was coming out of bullpen. Best of luck to the kid but this injury isn’t going to hurt us if true.

That's absurd and I think you know that.

It’s definitely a big deal.

The batter that hit the comebacker hit that on the first pitch of the at bat. You’re confusing him with the batter before him.

Exactly what I was thinking. Lol.
Leave it to Vols fans to blame the umps for a line drive hit directly at a player.
Maybe he was trying to say the batter aimed to hit the ball to the pitcher? Saying it was intentional?

No.
Why did he mention needed the umpire to look into it?

Yes it’s always a big deal when a kid gets hurt don’t get me wrong. My thing is losing Doollander for any amount of time is not gonna affect us as much as it may someone else when we have Blade Tidwell to slide right in there. We will miss him for sure but his replacement in Tidwell is gonna be more than ok. Next man up, and our next man is pretty damn good.

Perhaps if that batter was called out, the first pitch to the NEXT batter wouldve been a line drive to his head, ending his pitching career.
Maybe TN should thank the umps for possibly saving that young man’s life.

Maybe this will be enough to get the umps to take their jobs seriously.

Lots of wishful thinking by those who weren't blessed by being Tennesseans.
