It will never be enforced consistently. That hit Burns put on Milroe was definitely targeting, but if the refs call it then they have to call all questionable situations which then leads to having half a dozen or more suspensions every game.
I think the refs would call it more consistently if they didnt have to think about the associated suspension every time they call it.

Well, I think the suspension is completely ridiculous. The personal foul is enough. I really would rather see the targeting rule go away, and just enforce flagrant head to head contact like we used to. I would have to look at the hit Burns put on Milroe again. Is that the one where they both dropped their heads?

No one was talking about your brother or anyone with downs.

If the hit never happened we could have come back from that tipped throw and lucky interception and also go look back at that interception and you will see what a Bad arse JD5 really is! Invaluable and capable of winning even after the interception

My point being, while the rule dissuades a certain type of tackling... it will never fully prevent.
The problem is that it was reviewed and they still came up with no targeting. It was textbook targeting. If you are going to have the rule, enforce it. If not, do away with the rule.

It wasn’t. If it was, it would have been called. Crying for 3 days about it ain’t gonna change anything and it’s not going to change that big L into a W

Spot on, I have been saying the same. Call or no call, JD not playing eliminated any possibility of a come back

Can someone open up a Crying One Way Or The Other About The Jayden Daniels Hit forum so we don't have to see this shite every 3rd post?

Please, it's the entire conference and the majority of the country that feel that way. When everyone says it's been happening and continues to happen with the exception of the one's who are benefiting - whose really doing the coping?
It's a terrible look for the game of football to everyone but those who benefit from it. People are fed up with it.
This is the chorus against every team that has dominated a sport for long periods of time, especially football. People spent most of the last 20 years saying the NFL is cheating on Tom Brady's behalf. Now it is KC who is getting the NFL to cheat for them. You think the fact that most NFL fans think the NFL cheated on behalf of Tom Brady makes it true? The NBA is cheating for the Lakers or Lebron every year. Except when Jordan got every foul when he was winning all the championship. Just because a bunch of Knick, Piston, or Jazz thinks the NBA was cheating makes it true?
What people are really fed up is getting beat by a specific team over and over again and they use confirmation bias to cope. You get a shitty call against a team you usually beat, it is not as easy to say there is some conspiracy because you don't have decades worth of calls to sit and point at saying "look!!! they cheating!!!"

Then thats a problem bc that was one of the beautiful form tackles you'll ever see: facemask in the chest, arms wrapped up, drive the player backwards. If thats targeting, they need to change the fricking rule.

I agree that there needs to be consistency, but there was consistency in THIS game... see my three examples, all three no-calls. The consistency issue is game-to-game, week-to-week. I am fearful though, that with too much oversight around this you lose the football we all know and love. There definitely needs to be a balance between player safety and controlled aggression on defense, otherwise we should just play flag football

JD5 played great, but your defense eliminated any possibility of a comeback.
