The most painful L was definitely 2013 FSU. Ole Crab Legs lover made me shatter my remote against the wall.

That was a freaking slugfest. There were some ferocious licks passed in that game. It took everything out of us that year. We lost to a shitty A&M team on a last minute fumble but we never should have been in that position. We were absolutely worn out after that war with Ole Miss.

both teams left everything they had on the field that night. and both teams were never the same in the final few games. Ole Miss was pounded 30-0 the next week at Arkansas, rallied in the egg bowl against a state college team that was ranked #1 for over half the season, but got blown out again in the peach bowl against TCU...that game was a war. shame someone had to lose.

when I say "I scared the children"; I am not exaggerating

some of the girls actually called their parents (none of them wound up leaving, but a couple DID call their parents)

we live in Bham, my 12 year old son (who likes Bama) said "Roll Tide" to me and I told him to go frick himself (or so my wife says, I don't remember...)

to this day, when games come n, my wife asks me if everything is gonna be OK

well of course things will be OK, a shot at the fricking natty is not on the line every godam game and I don't drink a 5th of Beam watching EVRY game...

it was a bad night

2012 SECCG hurt like hell. I hate to even think of that game and the coulda, woulda, shouldas. Pretty sure a part of me died that night.
Last years UT last second loss was a close second. Being in Sanford and watching Eason hit Ridley- knowing we just had ole Lady Luck shine on a team that hadn't shown much and feeling like we stole one....only to go from a complete high to a rock bottom feeling in 4 seconds. Words can't describe those feelings.

that loss sucked, but it made me upset with Kirby more than anything else, I mean he's supposed to be a defensive genius - right?

So how did we get beat on the lowest percentage play in football?

Not punting on Kirby over it though - he had a decent 1st year...

The one that hurt me more than any other in the moment was easily 2011 LSU. Yeah...2008 Florida, 2010 Auburn, and 2013 Auburn did what they did to my psyche, but I don't think they even compare to what '11 LSU did when that kick sailed through the goal posts to end the game. I don't ever cry over sports, but at that moment I was about as close to crying as I have ever been after a football game.

Of course it worked out for us in the end, but I didn't know that on 11/5.

That was like taking a shotgun blast to the dick. Nothing else has even come close. Georgia would have absolutely obliterated Notre Dame.

The Natty year you had Cam Newton and MSU was leading with not much time on the clock. We went into the good ole "prevent defense" that I've always said only prevents you from winning. Sure enough last drive of game you marched down the field and got the TD to win it. I didn't cry but there were some things in the house I had to replace lol.

Oh, least I forget, in Arkansas. We had the best kicker in the Sec, we only needed a FG to win. The field got icy, it was cold. Our kicker slipped going thru his kick and missed. We had already had a series of games vs Arkansas that always came down to the wire and Arkansas always managed the late win. I could have cried that day except my tears would have froze and being a young punk I didn't want icycles in my face leaving the stadium with adults.

It's funny how Auburn and Bama fans have often made that excuse about losing to A&M at home, especially with the former being 0-3 against A&M at Jordan-Hare since expansion. I mean, even if there is some truth to it, you won't see Aggies mention being "too tired" from the prior week. Lousy officiating or having star players injured because of dirty MFers like Dan Skipper? Sure.

Also, that '14 Auburn team was very overrated like recent A&M teams and got exposed, as evidenced by their late season collapse.

I don't know why so many people pick on aTM outside you are new to the conference. Perhaps its a few of your fans who came in thinking you were going to have a crash party on the Sec?

I know the Big12 was a good conference but the Sec is simply tougher game to game. I think aTm fans honestly thought it would be a little easier. Every conference says "nothing easy in this conference week to week" but in the Sec it actually is true in a bigger way. Just my thoughts.

2009 UNC in the NCAAT. LSU was up with 8 minutes to go, and of course Ty Lawson comes back from injury to lead the comeback. only team that even scared UNC in the tournament that year

Back on topic:

1991 - @ Tulsa
That one still hurts. It was awful weather on the road against a good yet very underrated team where we literally gave the game away by having what seemed like 10 turnovers and lost a shot at the natty early on. Our #1 defense that was one of the most dominant in my lifetime couldn't save the offense that day from blowing it. The Cotton Bowl loss later on to FSU was deja vu.

1998 - @ Longhorns
Good ol' RC prevent defense screwed the day after coming back once Ricky broke the record and had his Heisman moment. The upset against K-State and Big 12 title made up for that loss, but that team was underrated because we had 3 losses despite having the toughest schedule in the country. I think FSU, Nebraska, K-State and OSU were all #1 at one point or another. Hell, Mizzou was also legit. I'm not saying the Vols couldn't beat the Buckeyes that year, but they dodged a huge bullet thanks to Saban and Sparty.

2000 - @ home against OU
We had the eventual national champs on the ropes and kicked their asses up until the 4th with Gameday in town, and RC pulls an RC like he did so often by choking the game away. Even with the pick-6 that should have been called back, we still should have won the game and ruined their season.

2006 - @ home against Tech
Another heartbreaking loss against Tech during a long stretch where the sand fleas had A&M's number. It was just worse because Graham Harrell threw a perfect fade that was barely caught in bounds for a TD at the very end after refs overturned an interception.

2011 - @ home against Okie St
A&M kicked their asses all over the first half and eventually lost to a very good/better team at home, basically because Mike Sherman didn't know how to get his players conditioned properly. That whole season, besides the beatdown of Baylor and their Heisman winner, was a huge disappointment for another preseason top 10 A&M squad. The Arky game was also one of the worst choke jobs I've ever seen, but the current winning streak has healed that wound.

2012 - @ home against LSU
We came out firing and then couldn't get out of own way once they inevitably got things turned around. If A&M wins that game and the others following, we get to play UGA for the de facto national title game in Atlanta for the chance to slaughter Notre Dame.

2013 - @ home against Auburn
The horse collar game, and the one that likely set Auburn up for their epic run. This was one of the best SEC games since A&M came home IMO. Despite Johnny and Mike putting on a clinic, we had no defense and couldn't stop Tre Mason and that offense. Yup, that one definitely still stings.

Maybe so, but there was a WHOLE lot of rustled jimmies and crow to eat on here after all the shite y'all talked for like a month and how LSU was gonna win by at least 30. There's also a good chance it kept y'all out of the Sugar Bowl.

That loss to Miss State in the now infamous "snow bowl" had to hurt with Wayne Madkin scoring on the last play lol.

Perhaps, but most folks including Aggies and A&M fans thought we didn't have a chance in 2012 despite having a very experienced squad and one that was hungry after the nightmare that was the 2011 season. Obviously no one knew about JFF and Mike Evans, either.

I agree about the Big 12 being easier in the sense of where you could have an off game against someone and still win, whereas in the SEC if you come out flat and uninspired, you're gonna get shredded and lose to teams you shouldn't lose to on paper. The Big 12 South in its heyday was a murderer's row, so the gauntlet that is the SEC West now isn't that much different, despite it being more of a line of scrimmage league. If anything, the schedule is SO MUCH better and more interesting since I grew up watching SEC games in addition to the SWC.

Some folks are always gonna be pissed about the SEC expanding beyond 12 teams, and some folks just don't like A&M. That's cool. They probably also don't realize we would've been in this conference for 20+ years by now had Texas politics not gotten in the way.

Oh yea, it did, but I was hammered that night, thankfully. I didn't hate MSU like i do those other teams either, especially with y'all having Jackie on the sidelines. I've been to Starkville twice since we joined up, and i always enjoy it despite hearing cow bells for long after i leave. That was a great, epic bowl game, that i need to watch again.

I can't speak for anyone but me but I liked the idea of aTm joining the Sec and so did most people here who give you grief. It expanded our TV base plus aTm in my opinion fits better here than you did in the Big12.

I have met numerous aTm fans over the years before you ever joined here and felt like you guys were more SEC-ish kinda people than Texas ever could be. So for me, I like it. Now, I never liked the idea of Mizzou joining but hey, that's just me.
