Kid just hit a 49 yarder

And then he missed a 48 yarder.

Hell I'll be happy if he can consistently hit them from 30 yards and in.

exactly, I can live with missed 48 yarders, but missed 30 yarders is where I get concerned

We routinely get awesome kickers out of High School who look like studs at first.. then we frick them up some way..

thanks for hairlipping the kid.

He’s got a good leg and the missed one wasn’t a bad miss.

He will be money in October. But come late November and possibly December and January he will have nervous breakdowns whenever he goes to kick.

Bobby. Williams.
Thankfully he no longer has his hands on our kickers.

He does....he kicks a pretty straight ball..not much hook or slice...like a golf shot.

Is the kicker who duck hooked it and sent the NCG into overtime still around?

How would you like to be the kicker, who misses, then has to jog back to meet Nick Saban?

No, he was a senior. He is a prime example of how life isn’t fair. In this very thread, a Bama fan said he would be happy with a kicker that was reliable inside 40 yards. We had that last season. Pap missed one kick inside 40 yards all season (13 of 14) before the only kick of his career everyone will remember.

When was the last time we had a FG kicker who didn't almost give you a nervous breakdown on every attempt?
Michael Proctor?

Shelley had limited range but he was absolute money.
Career 80% (44-55) and perfect (11-11) as a senior.

Actually I was commenting for comedic effect. You are one off on your stats though if we are going to be serious. He wasn't that bad, but one would think Bama would have a better kicker than this. 5 of 10 over 40, SEC kicker should be able to make more than half of 40+ yard kicks

well, that didn't copy how I would like but he was 13 of 15 inside the 40, and 7 of 7 inside the 30.

How am I off on my stats? I said up to the last kick he had one miss inside 40 all year. Add in the last one and you get 13-15.
I also agree that Bama should have a kicker that can hit outside 40, but I don’t blame Pap. He was never supposed to be the starter. The kid that flipped to Florida at the last minute was supposed to be that guy. Pap was just a lifelong Bama fan that decided to live the dream and suddenly found himself thrust into the limelight. In that context he did far better than could have been reasonably expected.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions.
