Malena had 7 carries as the number 3 back and 60 as the number 2 back. Is that enough context for you?

This.
Expect many throws this season at or behind the line of scrimmage. It essentially acts as a running game in this offense.

That's not true. Malena was the #1 back for most of those carries if you want to get technical.
But he was our #3 back
But he was our #3 back

bowling green is better than aTm. florida should win this game.

TeLeFaWx,
Ced O being "better" than Harrison only reinforces my point that we have a great OL. I never brought up Ced O, I only spoke about Harrison. I don't understand what you are even arguing about.
The point on the McNeal fumble was it was a turning point. Clearly you think we just sucked and were going to lose anyway in spite of being up by 14. That's fine but it's just an opinion just like mine.
I don't really get why you think our defense will be so much worse this year than last based on what we have seen and know. Since thee is no way to prove it I guess it is pointless to argue. I'm not saying all is well but I do think we will be at least as good as last year based on who we replaced and who won starting jobs. For instance if Howard Matthews had won the starting job I would be concerned but he is 3rd string. Jonathan Mathis being beat out for 1st string is also interesting. Dustin Harris being barely able to hang in the rotation as well as Floyd Raven not even making the 2 deep tells me we have talent. Watching them at the scrimmages reinforced that. To me the weakest player in the starting lineup D is Steven Terrell.
Call me a Kool Aid drinker if you wish but I've tried to be objective. I still don't see how you think this D will be as bad as one coached by a guy who belonged in a retirement home and who had walk ons all over the 2 deep with no speed.
BTW, Vegas agrees with me. A&M is a 2.5 point favorite. Lots of Kool Aid out there as well I guess.

2.5 favorite at home basically means Vegas has no idea which team is better because you usually get 3 pts for HFA.
Which is probably accurate because no one has any idea what A&M is gonna do with a new offense and freshman QB and if their defense is any good at all. And Florida basically half-assed it and looked terrible in week 1.

So the game isn't at Kyle then? Debating if the game was elsewhere or why Vegas puts the line at what they do isn't very relevant. It is what it is.

TeLeFawX...you must be one of the most incredibly negative people I've ever seen. It really sucks that you are an Aggie. I honestly feel bad for you. I think you and roadGator need to take a hike...both of you are miserable!

I think you will be the one putting your hiking boots on if A&M doesn't beat Florida. You have talked a ton of shite in your 36 posts, and you strike me as the type of Aggie fan that gives their fanbase a bad name.
to all the cool Ags.

Penalties, penalties, penalties. One of the longest games due to penalties.

We all have pecker wood fans. This new Aggie is just the latest example.
As for the Vegas topic, the home team usually a FG favorite by default when the bigger schools play. That's not new I don't think.
Anyway, should be a pretty good game unless either team just decides to moon walk on the field.

In all fairness, the rant brings out the worst in fans. Other teams don't mind letting fans know when they are full of shite.
Some of these guys have left the safety of texags to come here, and see things without their maroon tinted sunglasses.
Perception is not always reality, and that door swings both ways.
Here is to the rantards.

You are not wrong. This place used to be void of a bunch of shiite talk. Sure, there was playful banter and the occasional a-hole but mostly it was fine.
Then someone left the barn door open at 2-4 different sites from various schools (those should be obvious). It's been tough going here since with good discussion.
Hell, there's so much garbage you get sucked into it as well. I have tried to stop that but the rantards get me sometimes.

Its tough to have good decussion because too many people talk shite, but I'm going to go ahead and use this as my avatar.

The biggest concerns I have going into game one is 1) Manziel getting too exciting and just running around like a crazy man and making the play break down instead of standing in the pocket and finding the open receiver. 2) The defense not being able to stop the run. Last year the defense was fine. If you look at it adjusted for # of plays (we run like 81 offensive plays per game) then the D ranked around 30th best. We have a ton returning and some other guys stepping up (I'm looking at Harris), but UF has some athletes. Gillislee looked good in game one. I have no idea why Florida didn't give him the ball 30 times when the Qbs were sucking arse.

Heres a fun fact about Bowling Green and no...our coaches didnt overlook them. Boom and staff knew BG were coming in with a good team. The MAC isnt the Southland Conference. Bowling Green returned 17 starters from 2011, incl the qb and a lot of defense/OL.
UF forced their will on them by continuing to run the ball at them even with eight men in the box. We did manage 220 yds rushing. On defense we mix zone with man a lot and didnt rush the qb much, he throws quick slants and curls....had to with 4 guys able to apply pressure.
Now...if you ask me if the players werent fired up for BG like they will be this Saturday? The answer is yes. Our defense is going to win games for us. We have AA recruits at all the positions and the DL like Easley & Floyd were like top 15 recruits three yrs ago. Bostic and J. Jenkins were AAs...ditto a lot of our DBs. Marcus Roberson and Matt Elam were highly south after. A&M is not used to the defensive speed of the SEC, trust me. (Arkie has not had defenses like Bama & LSU...thats been their problem....so dont use them as example of SEC experience)
I cant wait for the game...R/S frosh qb and UF QB Driskel still learning.,..but talented, should be entertaining. Driskel btw will run at least twice on designated keepers imho...naked bootlegs and he can outrun defenders. A&M defense will be worn out by third qt. Your exp OL vs our DL and our exp OL vs your DL. I like our odds.

He's been very injury prone in the past. Hopefully Mack Brown will step it up (finally).

I personally think that if the NCAA didn't screw over Johntel Franklin last year that Howard Matthews would have redshirted.
quote:
Jonathan Mathis being beat out for 1st string is also interesting.
That tells me two things:
1. The coaches felt it necessary to have Gavin Stansbury and Spencer Nealy on the field at the same time.
2. Mathis hasn't fully recovered from his foot injury.

Dustin Harris being barely able to hang in the rotation as well as Floyd Raven not even making the 2 deep tells me we have talent.
Dustin Harris has been a liability every time he has been on the field in coverage when it truly mattered. I got banned on TexAgs for (correctly) arguing this point with Liucci after he claimed that Harris was going to be a breakout star this year with his "several career interceptions" (6 over 3 years).
quote:
To me the weakest player in the starting lineup D is Steven Terrell.
The only reason I think he is the starter is because they are waiting for either Jacobs or Raven to break the starting lineup. As soon as that happens, Everett takes away Terrell's job and Terrell goes back to the bench where he belongs.
