I would prefer to have Texas over A&M in the SEC only so Bama can improve their record against them. The only schools Bama has a poor record against historically is Texas and Notre Dame and I felt they put their issues with ND to bed after the 2012 NCG. Bama also beat Texas in the NCG but that was with "muh Colt" hurt. We still owe them a few asskickings.

A&M fit seamlessly into the SEC
Texas is a large national brand despite only winning 1 national championship in the past 40 years (same as Tennessee). Tennessee and Texas actually have very similar histories in terms of success (Ten has more national titles) but Texas sees itself as more successful than they actually are. They don't really fit into any conference because they believe a conference should exist to serve them. They honestly should go independent and do what Notre Dame does.
I'd take Oklahoma without question. And Clemson.

Texas A&M was the trailer trash of the Southwest Conference. Then they became the trailer trash of the Big 12. Now they are the trailer trash of the SEC.

Scheduling texas is like scheduling Michigan with Harbaugh. Sure, you get the national media slobbering over Michigan and acting like it is a big game. However, if you are buying tickets and attending is is like playing a G5 school and you wasted your money on hype with a coach who likes to sleep over with young boys.
At least with TAMU in the SEC they have enough history with the SEC west teams to make the banter and trolling fun.
