Seems like somewhere around the LSU game he's sort of accepted this team this year won't be able to play up to the normal standard. Not saying he's thrown in the towel. Probably knows next year they'll be back to that level.

I used to get angry with Richt after a struggle win against an unranked team when he'd say he was proud of how we fought and he was thankful for every win. I'd actually contrast his way vs. Saban's. Weird seeing Saban acting somewhat similar.

Alabama can still beat UGA. Not trying to say Bama is done here. Just a little different Saban this year compared to the past.

Yea he has a different tone for sure but he is a mastermind when it comes to motivation and doing it in the way that the team will respond to. Talent is there but there are some holes, I believe he might not have made the best coaching hires, and with the NIL money deal there might even be more ego or whatever making it harder to deal with.

Some coaches are old-school, some are players' coaches.

The best know how to effectively adapt their approach between these styles and apply it to individual teams, and especially to individual players, to bring out their best.

I don't know if he's changing himself so much as he just knows what this particular group needs. Time will tell.

Absolutely agree - part of it was trying to do all the mind tricks with them, part of it was just that he thought they were truly doing all they could do. And honestly I think most of us have kind of accepted that and come to love this group the last couple of weeks, flaws and all*. I know I have a greater appreciation for the fact that while they screw up a ton they fight their asses off and find ways to win games, no matter how ugly or how bad it might look.

*The coaching staff does not get that same level of grace, though. Especially the offensive side of the ball.

I don't think necessarily he has changed, but we're playing alot of young pups. A lot expectations were placed on this team by fans and media, likely if Saban chewed their asses on every miscue probably would gotten tuned out.

I really do think he would go back hire a few different positions coaches.

He will look very happy and relaxed after he kicks Kirby’s arse...again.

Next year, sure. This year, I'm leaning heavily toward no.

He knows what this team is. It was always a rebuild type year

He’s headed to Atlanta in a rebuild year after winning the natty.
Georgia fans that think they are the new Alabama are going to be sorely disappointed.

This is not the first time a Saban team has been meh and not made it. He’s missed out on Atlanta several times. No clue why people are acting like the sky falling. It’s never been Bama’s year this year.

Great analogy. When was Richt a 7 time NC coach? And when exactly did Georgia struggle coming off a national championship year?

Way to relate.
