I’m not getting into each play. It’s a lot closer than you think. People also forget Smith is almost three years older than Stingley. Did smith have the edge in those two games sure he did, but I’m not going to go by those two games because it’s a small sample size of when Stingley was on him

These are cheap wins for dumb fans. So a corner gets burned once or twice and it confirms their Smart Analysis but a scout watches the same game tape and grades the corner out solidly. Happens all the time because fans mostly just follow the ball. I guess the other one is “corner gave up a lot of receptions” but they were playing the WRs they were on to take away deeper routes and rally to the football. You really got to focus just on the corner and understand what defense they were playing to evaluate quality at that position. A perfect throw almost always going to beat great and sometimes even perfect coverage.

I mean, he was 1st team All-American, unanimous All-SEC and SEC Defensive Player of the Year. I think he's gotten plenty of exposure.

I do tend to favor the opinion of some rando like you over that of nfl scouts who make a living evaluating talent.
