OU played two blue blood teams every year

and then a shitton of absolutely nobody
I would MUCH rather have to play Nebraska/Texas, then a bunch of creampuffs as opposed to having to play bama/auburn/florida/tennesse/lsu/etc yearly

Are you saying the SWC and Big 8 were Sunbelt type conferences?

of course they woulnd't be as high if they were playing an SEC schedule
Pretty sure both did it back in the day when the SEC wasn't as good as the SWC and Big 8. Those times did exist mostly pre-Bear Bryant at Bama.
I do have to add that I am surprised Bama doesn't have a streak like that with how good Bear had them rolling through the 70s.

That’s a 1 maybe 2 loss schedule.

Oklahoma had a 31 game winning streak snapped by Kentucky in the 1951 Sugar Bowl. Pretty damn Impressive to have that streak and a 47 game streak.

So are you saying you joined an inferior conference? That is a hard argument to make in your position.
Read it again.

Toughest division of the toughest conference.
You were mistaken... I'm amazed it was #4

Now that OU and Texas are in a real conference you'll never see them hit that win streak again,
The record is 60+ years old. I doubt any FBS team will ever win 47 in a row again.
I can easily concede that the SEC is in the most fertile recruiting ground in the country. But program strength isn't based entirely on location. Its just a factor.
Take the two most dominant SEC teams currently, in UGA and Bama. They have played 73 times ever. Solid number, but the sport is old. OU and Tx have played109 times ever. This is a factor. The top SEC teams don't necessarily play every season.
What it really comes down to is games against opponents ranked at the end of season. All-time SOS
If you use the earliest ranking, the AP which began in 1936, it looks like this.
1936-2023
Games against Final AP ranked teams
Florida - 314
Alabama - 311
LSU - 307
Auburn -301
Tennessee - 295
Texas - 290
Georgia - 283
Oklahoma - 282
Games Won against Final AP Ranked Teams
Alabama - 151
Oklahoma - 129
Texas - 108
Florida - 107
Tennessee -98
Georgia -96
Auburn -95
LSU - 93
Florida at 314. OU at 282. So UF has played 32 more games against ranked opponents than OU over 88 years.
On average, UF has played 3.56 final ranked opponents annually. OU has played 3.20 final ranked opponents annually.

To be fair, Bama has a couple 28 game win streaks and a 26 game streak. It's a tough conference.

It depends which decade you're talking about.
60's and 70's: the Big 8 had depth.
80's: the Big 8 had four or five absolute trash teams nearly every year (ISU, KU, KSU, MU, sometimes CU or OSU). The Big 8 as a whole was definitely sub-par during the 80's, there was very little depth.
The last few years of the Big 8 (early 90's), the conference as a whole was getting better, primarily due to KSU's sudden rise. ku even won 10 games one year.
