Nobody knows as SEC fans what other programs have or don’t have.Posters just put things out there to piss off fans of the other SEC programs.

I don’t think the joke was ever lack of money, it’s the lack of results for the money you spend.

UK getting bounced in the 2nd round of the only sport they’re relevant in, with all the money they’ve invested in said sport, is almost as funny as hiring Joe Sloan as your new OC.

I think the model UK has moved to is the future for college athletics. I'm glad we got there first and are starting to reap the rewards of being innovative.

Even Vandy

Dude, Vandy has an 11 billion dollar endowment. LSU is broke from paying all your fired coaches.

So I couldn't read all the article. Did listen to a breakdown of it today on KSR. Here's my thing.

So they've restructured as an LLC. That's lovely - I'm also an LLC. Now here's the thing ... an LLC doesn't get you more revenue (money coming in). It restructures some of the things you pay taxes on. If the Kentucky Legislature doesn't come in like a house of fire and squash it - which as of now they can because the State of Kentucky has some pretty tight legal holds on the University of Kentucky - then it might give the AD more room to maneuver.

The JMI deal promises $30 mil a year. No small sum. But even if this LLC shelters some tax money ... somebody will have to show me how that takes a $175 mil/year program (which included $15 mil from JMI) and push that into the $250 mil numbers talked about in the article ?

Color me skepticle.
