Since you provided a mostly reasonable reply (save your continued and petulant name calling) I will offer you the same courtesy.

I also don't care what everyone thinks, I care about what is right. The reason I made that point was to shoot down any of your notions that this was all coming from outside your program.

I actually agree the video leaves a LITTLE open to interpretation. But just looking at Bret's body language (the flailing of arms about in Cam's face, swiping his elbow and arms across his facemask, the exaggerated fall, the IMMEDIATE truffle shuffle afterwards) it is quite obvious to any non-biased observer he's intentionally trying to illicit a reaction from a player, and draw a penalty dishonestly. That is total horse shite. You never come onto the field and touch an opposing player in an aggressive manner. He's not holding anyone back. Also don't talk about what college football has 'devolved' to without first acknowledging that what your coach is doing, in this clip at least, is behavior that is totally contrary to all established mores that have existed through the history of college football.

I don't know how long you've been watching college football, but I know it hasn't been throughout the history of college football and I know that coaches used to get in the middle of possible altercations all the time. Maybe that's changed, but it's all I honestly believe that Bielema was doing here. He recruited Cam, which if you know anything about Bielema, you know that means he likes him. For all his faults, Bielema doesn't do things like he's being accused of here and Lefty was right when he called this a witch hunt.

You've taken a few seconds of video to determine otherwise. It won't surprise me one bit if Saban releases a statement disagreeing with you and criticizing the press for another overreaction, as he likes to do so often.

Seriously, I can't believe the stupid reactions I've seen today.

Haha, I noticed that as well. I am fairly certain he is arguing on "bush league" vs "busch leaugue."

because he's not talking about car racing, thus the correct term is bush league which has been in use for over a century. i bet he thinks it's pre madonna too.

why do you care?

hawfaninc pg 4:

the video clearly shows Cam pushing JaMichael after the play is over, Bert see's it happen, Bert goes to defend his player, then Cam pushes Bert.

pretty cut and dry

WDE24 pg 10:

quote:
He clearly puts his left hand on the players shoulder and then backs into him while doing a sweeping motion with his right arm to try to move the player back. Would have been a good de-escalating move had it been to his player and not an opposing player

hawgfanic pg 11:

right. after my initial watch I thought it was clear.

after watching the video numerous times, it's not so clear.

And conveniently near Cam Rob's facemask. I don't care what he was trying to do. When there is a skirmish on the field, should the coaches be involved with players of the opposing team?

I am sure these officials have never seen two college football players argue before and had no idea how to handle it. Thank God Bert was there to tell them how to do their job. It's not like they couldn't have solved it on their own like in 100s of other instances all across the league where the head coach stays out of it.

Yes. He started toward the Arkansas player and ran into the ref, so he started toward Cam and puts his arm between Cam and the multiple Arkansas players approaching. It was a hasty reaction and not something he'd been sitting around thinking about, so he could draw a foul on Alabama.

It looks to me like Cam pushed Bielema's arm away, which again, is understandable in the heat of the moment, but the refs saw it as disrespectful to coach and flagged him. Of course that excited Bielema, as it would any head coach. I've yet to see a coach turn to the ref and say "I think you got that wrong, so we're gonna refuse it".

I'm on record as calling Biemela the best hire that year.

I'm retracting that statement.

Pure trash. Grow the f&%@ up fat arse. Be a man and the leader you're supposed to be.

I'm criticizing what (most of us) see in that clip. I'm not attacking anything outside of that, as you suggest. Not sure what Saban's opinion has to do with anything? I often disagree with the shite he says. Your the one who seems incapable of criticizing anything about your coach.
