Yeah it's really not close, even their SEC records in that time frame.
51-77 (.398)
66-62 (.516)
Mind you, the cross-division permanents have been Vanderbilt and Alabama, respectively. Add to that OM has had five 8+ loss seasons since 2000.

Tennessee won the East in 2001, 2004, and 2007. They've had 4 10 win seasons. Their worst season was a 5-7 finish. Ole Miss has zero west titles, one 10 win season, and their worst season was 2-10, and Ole Miss has also gone 0-8 in the SEC twice in that time span. But I mean if you want to compare Tennessee now to a decade where they won 100 games, then sure they're technically closer, but they're still miles apart even post 2000
fricking devastating onslaught of facts raining down in this bitch

truth be told, Ole Miss has been unequivocally better than Tennessee a total of probably 5 years since 2000 (2008, 2009, 2013-2015). I think people tend to forget just how bad Ole Miss has been and tend to over-exaggerate how bad Tennessee has been. Tennessee clearly isn't what they once were but they never reached the level of suck Ole Miss did during the reign of Coach O and last two years of Nutt. And the potential each has as a program isn't even close. Ole Miss just cannot and will not ever be able to compete with Tennessee in terms of resources.

Exactly. When everyone says Oxford is stuck in the '60's and racist to recruits then they actually show up and are superstars and dance with fine women and get treated like kings, it helps us. Once the negative recruiting is proven false, they start to ask why the other school was lying to them. But most of the time ti stops kids from ever reaching campus.

2000 and 1962 matter in 2016 about the same. You Tennessee fans who want to beat your chest need to realize, you haven't done shite in almost 2 decades.
And what has OM done in the last 4 decades? Do you have a concussion?

Best friend(I doubt it) or not Treadwell is from Chicago, and you're not getting him to come to Oxford fcking Mississippi without help.

Is it true Leromy "gas mask" Tunsel committed to OM without ever visiting Oxford?

What caused them to start recruiting like a national power overnight when they hadn't won anything in decades?
And do you honestly believe every major program in NCAA Div 1 play by the rules. Doubt if any SEC team outside of Vandy plays by the rules.

It's not about playing by the rules, per se. It's about playing within the general vicinity of the rules.
I know the analogy is trite, but it's like speeding. If most people are going 50 in a 40 mph zone, it's pretty likely that nobody is going to get busted. If somebody comes screaming through doing 70 in a 40, they are probably going to get caught and made an example of.
When a program like Ole Miss is all the sudden getting kids over Bama, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU (among others) who are admittedly bending and breaking some rules here and there, that's going to raise some red flags.
Now it could be that all this is due to some incredible streak of coincidences, or it could be that they were blatantly flouting the rules. Time will tell

That might explain some of their 2013 class, but certainly not Tunsil. And it certainly wouldn't explain their 2016 class

Winning 7, 8, 9, and then 10 games his first four years plus a sugar bowl victory is a pretty damned good recruiting tool.
