Let's play a game (Kamario Taylor)

I keep seeing all the Kamario Taylor talk (where will he be next year).
It's established he grew up a State fan and his family (State fans and an ex player) told him his whole life he was going to be the one to change the Program.
If you were a college QB playing for your favorite team - the team you grew up watching, and that team was going to pay you $5M to remain their QB - how much would it take for you to go somewhere else?

$6M?
$10M?

If I was playing at Arkansas, and I thought I had a chance to do something special there, I don't think there is a number for me. If we were staring down another 3 to 5 win season, I would probably go to a contender for $7.5M or more. That's just me. I love Arkansas.

I'd stay with my favorite team.
Pretty sure they can still buy the injury insurance so you get a big payout if you get hurt.

I wouldn’t leave. And I don’t think he does.
That being said I wouldn’t blame him if he did. If someone dangles life changing money for you and your family, you have to do what’s best for you and yours

Obviously this will depend on a person's circumstances and their innate allegiance to the University.
But there is one factor that all soft fanboys who love their university dearly (and would play for free of course) always miss when considering this equation.
And that is the work and sacrifice involved. This stuff is hard, painful and takes up a lot of your time... and you instinctively realize that you are one play away from it all being taken away from you.
I think that makes a person consider the money aspect even more. Regardless of how much you love your school.

I hope he doesn't, but if he continues playing at a high level all MS State fans are gonna hear all on and off season is about him leaving. shite sucks having to hear that, takes away from the enjoyment of the football season.

If it comes down to money I think it would take a big number because for the most part I think state will make whatever the number is work. If they market him correctly this season it’s going to lead to national endorsement deals anyway. For instance I think Trinidad is around 6 million this year but how much of that ia from his deal with ATT? I would imagine a pretty good chunk. All to say I don’t think he leaves unless Miami or someone comes in and makes an absolutely ridiculous offer and even then I think he’s such a die hard state guy that I’m not sure he would chase the money. Now if his coach leaves that might be a different situation because it’s probably in his best interest to stay with lebby but I’m not sure any of the jobs that are likely to come open would be a better situation than state right now. He has this thing turned around and headed in the right direction and while I think they are good this year I think next year could be a huge year for them. Would be dumb for him to leave after this season I think. I think both are in Starkville another season.
