Allen Mullaly left Ford for Microsoft while negotiating with Microsoft on Fords behalf.
True it’s not like he was going to GM. But it certainly creates an awkward dynamic. Ford decided that the best opportunity to successfully complete the near term project was worth the near term risks and structured the exit to accomplish the task.
In the case of ole miss, the near term project was the best chance at a national championship, ole miss decided it wasn’t worth the risks. If Golding can sustain Lanes success or ends up with a National Championship, then they probably chose correctly, if Golding can’t conclusions will be drawn from that as well.
