If Deloss doesn't attempt to drag A&M to the PAC, causing them to go knocking on the SEC's door, you're drowning in the Big 12 right now.
ha ha that's funny. Slive went to CBS when you and aggy joined and asked for a pro rata increase for the 3:30pm slot contract. CBS told him to frick off. Said you and A&M weren't worth anything.

CBS and time slots??? That’s hilarious! You are clearly a small picture guy!
Slive negotiated the fricking SEC NETWORK with the A&M and Mizzou cable markets in his back pocket.
Time slots? C’mon you’re not this obtuse are you?

Are you under the impression that SEC Network wouldn't have existed without you and A&M?
SEC on CBS was the biggest ratings programing going for this conference and CBS brass laughed Slive out of the room.

Slive crushed the CBS timeslot bullshite with his launch of the SEC Network.
I normally don't do research for posters advocating for a different viewpoint, but you seem somewhat challenged on a subject that has been so thoroughly analyzed so here goes...

There are literally dozens of articles documenting what a coup this was at the time. Read a little.

The Slive thing was a tangent. But he isn't some master negotiator just because Texas pushed Texas A&M -- and thus SEC Network onto cable boxes in Texas -- into his lap.
The point is you would not be in the SEC if it weren't for Texas pissing off our little brother.

In 2012, the SEC expanded to add Texas A&M and Missouri to become a 14-team league.
While CBS owned rights to the No. 1 football game each week — as well as two doubleheaders a year — ESPN owned all other SEC games. When the league expanded, ESPN paid what is described as "pro-rata," increasing distribution from 12 units to 14 to account for the two new schools.
CBS declined to do the same.
Despite multiple attempts from Slive, the network refused to distribute an extra two units. The issue became a years-long tussle between Slive and SEC presidents against the network. It served as the first real fissure between the parties — one that widened as time passed.
"Every time this contract came up in conversation, there wasn't much love for CBS," said R. Bowen Loftin, the former Texas A&M and Missouri president who is now retired. "They did us no favors. I felt, and we all felt, they owed us something."

Yeah, I failed to consider that it was actually Texas, not Slive responsible for launching the very lucrative SEC Network.
I've done all I can do here. Goodnight.

exactly. a monkey would’ve been able launch the SEC Network after Texas handed it 10 million subscribers
