i gotcha on Kiel and agree with a lot of what you posted, but Miles has to stay above the fray...at least in public. (like he did when Kiel intially de-commited). remember what he said then?
Les may have let the Bayou Bash influece him yesterday. not unlike those 'influential 3rd parties', had on some of our recruits recently.
that one stung. reading the S'port Times article was depressing. If I never read about Bo Davis or DeCarlos Holmes again I'll be a better person.

absolutely. the kid is an asshat that fricked Les and LSU. You lost a solid tackle prospect due to that kid. I think it would be better if coaches could talk a little shite about a kid who screws them over, like a long term commit that flips on signing day without any warning.
Kinda sounds like you're being a smartass.
If it was really too far from home, him or his family should have been straightforward and called rather than just show up to class at Notre Dame without telling anyone.
However, if coaches are allowed to pull a scholarship at anytime they want, then there shouldn't be any penalties against athletes that pull their commitment.
The big loser is Patrick Miller. He would have benefited from an early signing day, but instead, he was told at the last minute that he would have no scholarship. I wish him the best.

I'm actually not being a smartass at all.
Miller wanted to be at LSU, whether AU was a close or distant second for him. Gunner fricked him over as much as he did LSU and he fricked over LSU pretty bad. If he had brought up his concerns and gave the coaches a head's up, they could have kept Miller on board and continued looking for another quarterback prospect.

No shite. Some of you guys are acting as if Kiel is the first recruit to every change his mind. Recruiting is a dirty game at times. Ask the OL that ended up at UK instead of LSU last year.
No one beside Kiel and his family knows the real reason he decided to go to Notre Dame instead of LSU. Although I'm sure a lot of QBs would rather play in Kelly's offense than LSU's.
The kid may not have handled the situation well, however he's 18. Les is a grown man and has been a head football coach for over a decade. He should've handled the situation better.

I'm torn. I'm not sure I'd want my coach doing this, but at the same time I think it's funny as hell.

Les probably shouldn't have said anything like that. But, I already said it earlier, it was an LSU recruiting bash, and I think he was trying to fire up some LSU fans and give them something positive to think about, it's been a shitty month.
Yeah, Kiel is a teenager, but his parents could have acted like grownups and called Miles if Kiel didn't want to.
Kiel has flip-flopped on so many different schools though, I wish we had kept Miller.

Hey, I'm all for a ND vs. LSU game in the next 2-3 years
Always good seeing ND getting destroyed.
