According to his daughters interview he really really wants to coach again

talent pool is the main problem
Yall need to do whatever OU has done to stake a flag in the North TX area.
Then go through the staff. I think to many assistant coaches get hired for their recruiting ability, and less on talent development ability. When I hear a coach is a "good recruiter" as the first thing I cringe, cause that's a waste when it comes to actual production of the product. Which is what speaks for itself.
Why I was a "give Dooley more time" guy, cause he was a process guy. Which takes time to show, and not a cheese-dick salesmen like Jones, that benefits from others hard work. I wanted to slam my remote down the other day when he was on CFB Live as he had to repeat the "At UT we are about championships" each time he was asked a question. Thanks f-ing Sherlock.

Yes on the recruiting suggestions, please- do something.
Sometimes you just wanna punch a coach thru your screen. I have experience in that.

If I was Ole Miss Miles would be my 2nd choice. Tubberbille would be first.
OM has got to get someone with a clean reputation and that aint Tubberville...

Tuberville is probably the chillest dude ever.
Getting up and leaving recruits at a dinner w/o telling them you aren't coming back b/c you just got a job offer from a different school is not something the chillest dude ever would do.

In a curious matter of unstoppable force meets immovable object, the question arises, if Miles were to take over at Arkansas, would LSU then be able to beat them.
You should change your name to LovetheCock.

Les still lives in Louisiana

You know - it's kind of sad a man with the stellar coaching record Les Miles has hasn't gotten a job yet. Miles SEC coaching record is 114-34 with 7 10 win seasons and a National Championship. He's only 63 - so he's still got a few good years in him. I'd like to see him coach again at a Power 5 Conference.

Les would be a pipe dream for us.

I've in several of the other 1,000,000 threads on this subject that Les is the absolute PERFECT candidate for this job.
Ole Miss is about to enter a period of severe suckage. Nobody's going to be able to win a lot with what they're facing. Bringing in a good young coach isn't going to do anything but stunt his career. When he doesn't win, people will ask if it is the coach or the program. Les, on the other hand, has the track record of winning big so people will have confidence that he's getting the most out of the players.
OM is going to have to recruit at a stellar pace to hope to compete at any level. Les is a proven recruiter.
OM REALLY needs to clean up its image. Les has an impeccable reputation in that department. He runs as clean a ship as one can possibly run in college football. Hiring someone like that is the best thing OM can do right now to help with their NCAA mess.
There's very little for either side to lose and a lot for both to win. Les isn't getting calls for big jobs and other big name coaches aren't going to answer the phone if OM calls. If Les could guide them through the dark period with any type of success, he could be a 10 year or more coach there.
He's the man they need, no question about it.

Ole Miss #1 target is Frank Wilson

I don't think Les wants to coach again. His last 3 years at LSU really wore in him.
I kind of agree. I think he may do some High School job. I don't mean that as a slight.
I could see him liking a job like that to be honest. Gets to teach kids. He really is suited for that late term career.
I've always liked Miles regarding those aspects.
Wish him the best regardless.

I don't think he would touch Ole Miss right now. USM would be a better job for the next 5 years...at least.

I'd want to coach again too. It pays lots of money at his level.
But I think it's obvious he isn't going anywhere that isn't ideal and he can't have control. Millions guaranteed sort of does that to a person.
