Dude. He will not have near the support or advantages/resources he had while coaching at LSU if he goes to ole miss. Youve lost your damn mind. He received criticism because of the way he coached and they way the program looked and performed his last few seasons at lsu. It was his own fault. One of the best coaches in the country? You have to be kidding me man. Lol.

Didn't he put a lot of players in "The League."

And maybe he just wants to go to an SEC school that beats BAMA on the regular.

So 2 out of 11 in the last 13 years is beating Alabama regularly?

Going to be so great that you won't win 1 in the next 20 years.

BTW, les never beat Bama regularly so good luck with that. He plays the kind of football that we dominate on. Also be a thing of beauty for him to try it with 2 and 3 stars. He couldn't do it with 4 and 5 stars.

He won at Okie St with little talent. Ole Miss should throw their checkbook at him. What Ole Miss needs now way more then wins is a total and complete makeover. They are not getting a lot of love right now. Miles is one of the most well respected coaches in regards to class and character in the nation. Ole Miss will need to try to put the past behind then and make their new identity mirror their coach. There simply isn't a better person available. As a coach I would look at what he did at Okie St. as a fair comparison. I do think that if Ole Miss hired Miles and they went 8-4 he would get a lot of looks more bigger schools immediately.

Contract doesn't work that way. He basically has to be paid a reasonable salary.

Assuming that qualifying language does exist, "reasonable" may be hard to define. The situation he may be facing given potential sanctions makes what is "reasonable" even more difficult to determine.

Hiring fired coaches at bargain prices for staff or other positions is common place. For instance, Mike Locksley on Bama's staff was originally hired at 45k a year after being fired from a position making close to 700k.

As Locksley moved from OC/interim HC to analyst, its not an apples to apples analogy. However, moving from LSU to the Ole Miss HC job under normal conditions isn't apples to apples either; it certainly isn't under current cinditions.

Coach Miles does stand to offer a school, especially one that is not in a favorable position for success, a cost savings.

Ole Miss has enough to worry about - they don't need to hire some senile liar.

Easy money for Les. No pressure to win for like 10 years. Anyone should jump at that who isn't an employed coach.
