You can save your Baylor jokes for TexAgs or a Big 9 board. Not to be rude, but no one gives a shite about a rivalry between two of Texas' little brothers here.

No kidding, it isn't too late for you to ask for Texas' forgiveness and go back to the big12...

Hey, ripping is all part of the fun of college sports--I welcome it.

Honestly, the only reason I come on threads like this are to learn about other school's traditions and maybe educate those who may not know about my own. Know way too much about the traditions of lots of schools, but it sure makes it fun (for me) to go to other venues or have them come to Kyle Field and actually understand what people are doing.

Looking forward to seeing some more unique traditions among our SEC brethren. Most of my CFB tradition knowledge comes from Big 12 and BIG schools.

LOL

ITS NOT INTIMIDATING, IT EMBARRASSING

you aren't creating a home field advantage,(if you dont believe me as Oklahoma State!!) You are just making yourselves look like a bunch of sissies. No team is intimidated by Male Cheerleaders, they just aren't

Oh shite, somebody's getting riled up! Must be that multitasking thing again, hard to think and type isn't it?

I won't

You're corp cadets do seem pretty "intimate" with each other, FWIW.

I would retort with "another illiterate gump," but it just seems so........redundant

No, its intimidating because drunks are screaming in your face and you feel like there is a large probability that they might literally beat you within an inch of your life if you look at them wrong... and you'd be right

This.

It is much more intimidating as you are being yelled at, having piss bombs thrown at you, and being stabbed by corndog sticks that have been filed to a point via shiv, than it is to hear 25,000 young males lead by other young males "yell" in unison with arms wrapped around one another when not playing grab arse...

If I had to pick the lamest tradition (that I know of so far) I'd have to say Tennessee playing the opposing team's fight song.

I kige this. It's pretty dumb, but there are many SEC traditions worse.

Exactly. That's why before every yell, the Yell Leaders initiate what's called the "pass back." They start a hand signal that the students in the front rows pass on to those behind them who can't see/weren't looking at a Yell Leader to let them know which yell is coming next. Sounds corny, but it's actually a pretty effective way to keep all 25K-30K students in step. Not to mention if you're on the other side of the field, watching the pass back make its way up all 3 decks of students is cool to watch.

Here are a few examples of SEC teams doing cheers or yells without yell leaders, and most of these involve more than 25k. Maybe ya'lls student section needs some adderall…

Just a few examples.. all without yell leaders… imagine that.

It's more of a cultural thing. A&M is more of an old school, leave what happens on the field, on the field type gameday environment. Don't get me wrong, it can be plenty rowdy during the game, but before and afterwards, win or lose, Aggies are more likely to buy visiting fans a beer or give them some free BBQ rather than threaten them. If you were looking for fans like that, Texas Tech probably fits the bill more than A&M (as far as Texas Big 12 schools go).

There's no way that stadium being so open is earsplittingly loud.

Not a chance- That tackle box at A&M may be loud when compared to Baylor (which seems to be who A&M fans like to compare things too)

But the SEC stadiums are bigger, enclosed, and full of fans that are much much rowdier. heII, even the drunk hotties in sundresses dropping F bombs are more intimidating than the Milk Men holding hands and chanting in unison

I have plenty of experience with the Texas schools...

I have 20 more years of experience with the SEC fanbases than you...

If you happen to win sometime, I wouldn't talk to most of us afterwards.

Their former Defensive Coordinator said it best while being the interim-HC at Arkansas when explaining our change of scenery nearly two decades ago.

"The SEC is where they slit your throat and drink your blood..."
