It boggles my mind that this statement is always downvoted when the only school in this conference would even think of trading any national title in a sport over football is UK. Majority of fanbases put football over everything else. It's not even arguable. This board is far more active in the fall than at any other time. Stupid to say different. It's okay to say you disagree and love some other sport as much or more, but you're in a very small minority. That's fact.

OK.

National Champions:

Football - Georgia

Women's Volleyball - Florida
Women's Soccer - Florida
Men's Cross Country - Florida

Congrat's on your football title. I would take this every year for the rest of my life and be fine with never beating Georgia in football again .

Final breakdown

The way scoring works is it takes each school's top 19 sports finishes, but 4 of those 19 must include women's volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball:

I have no problem admitting that I would trade all of this for a football national championship. That doesn’t mean we should not be proud of our athletic department being so strong overall. CDC has been an incredible AD.
Such a huge improvement from our former asshat Dodds

I was about to reply, but then I noticed you’re an Auburn fan. It makes perfect sense that you would place so little value in football lol. Thanks for the laugh.

Pretty sure he means trading in what largely made the athletic dept successful, not a championship in every sport like the first post on this page insinuated. That would be crazy to trade inn 18 or 19 titles for one title.

But in this case, I'm almost positive every Texas fan would trade in the Softball and Men's Swimming & Diving championship (the school's two national titles in 2024-25) for Texas to beat Ohio State and Notre Dame in the CFP in January

We all weigh sports differently. For me, football is way above everything else. other than baseball it’s the only sport I care about. Not that we shouldn’t be happy with the job CDC has done, like I said.

I would also argue that spending all that revenue on director cup titles can have a very profound effect on just how many football championship trophies are in the the ole trophy case.

Depends on what you want out of the AD. You and I would prefer most going to football since we place so much on that game.
Director's cup matters to a lot of people. I'm not one of them but I'm probably in the minority.
Outside of Football and Baseball I don't give a rat's arse. Maybe I should.

Oh absolutely, football is way more important than any other sport, just not every other sport. Now financially it is. Football brings in way more than all the other sports combined.

Well because they put this out on the 10th of June and those sports were not finished. This is not final, there will be one more release a couple of days after baseball is done that will include track and baseball.

and that's why I place so much value on football and, for me at least, it's more important than every other sport combined. It may not be a popular opinion but I'm not going to bs people about how much I care about this trophy.
I'm happy for those who care. I'm happy for university and the job cdc has done but I'd be a fricking liar if I said it matters much to me.
I want a football title and, yes, I'd give this trophy up in a second to win one in fb and I make no apologies for that.

Nonsense. Many of those sports exist due to the govt forcing schools to have them, not because anyone actually wanted them. Football pays for those sports because it's what's important.

To each their own.

I would trade a Texas 16-0 college football championship if it meant in the same year Texas would win championships in each of baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball and softball

You’re kind of proving his point by just listing a bunch of sports and saying “Florida” when you’re not actually better at all those sports. Whether it’s present day or historically. This isn’t a jab either Florida top to bottom is a top tier AD and better than UGA

And if your post hypothetical, he’s pretty clearly talking about a one for one title comparison not 20 for one
