..... as a person who worked in the media for a number of year (as I did), I don't much respect for Thayer Evans and personally question his journalist integrity...

Yes I know she said this. As I said...this is a smart woman. Again...read between the lines. She said a mouthful. I understood it as a mom saying "I am not surprised at the Auburn stuff. They didn't offer us anything...but i think it was because I was very clear about not allowing it. Even so I found them sleazy."

If you truly worked in the media for a # of years (as I also did - 8 yrs and glad I'm out of it), then you know that regardless of Evans' agenda (which I agree he has), his work still has to receive editorial approval (and in some cases, legal approval) before it goes live on the site.
Evans has a "mad on" against AU & the Newtons, that is clear. I can understand his animosity toward Cecil. Still trying to piece it together as to what his deal is against AU. HOWEVER, this recent story is a time appropriate piece. The game b/t AU & USCe (the final two for Lattimore) is today, it has tremendous implications, there have been recruiting accusations swirling around one AU player, and Lattimore/Family would have a unique perspective on AU recruiting.
Unless he misquoted Latt's mom there is nothing journalistically wrong with this story. AU fans might not like it, but it isn't a "bad piece of journalism" like his grades story from a few weeks ago. That one was bad and no justification for writing.

I totally agree with you...but as I stated before, when I saw this was a Thayer Evans article I didn't read any further...so I don't know (or care) what it entails

I do not have any proof that Thayer beat his wife. Since she had to get a restraining order against him during their divorce however, I am sure everyone can read between the lines.

Thayer's only 'breaking' story has been the UF academic fraud stuff.... he hasn't been in on the cecil story, other than douchey commentary.
