I'm pretty sure most Auburn fans refer to us as "UAT" because we have a UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham), and a UAH (University of Alabama at Huntsville)... They think it's some sort of insult to call us UAT because UAT = University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. I could be mistaken, but that's what I picked up from Auburn fans on ITAT.

we didn't take Allen because we needed another WR, just cause he was one of the best players in the country.
That is exactly right. We are actually loaded at WR. Missing on KA will only suck because he's such a talented player. I love the current crop of WR from last year and this year. There are some real studs in these two classes.

I really really don't want to lose KA. I seen where BamaRabbi from Tidesports thinks he stays with Bama. That guy usually has pretty good information.

It's looking like Bo Davis might offer his brother tonight. We shall see.

Hmmmmm. I'd hate to be the brother riding on coattails. I guess there's a Roger Clinton in every bunch.

I hope it works out for Bama. The anticipation is driving me insane.

What position, QB? I didn't really think they would give his brother an offer. How are the numbers going to work with the other guys on board they are wanting?

why is everyone so convinced Keenan would be switched to wide receiver? if the secondary is in need (which it is isn't it? don't you lose 3 starters?) why would you take the #1 safety in the nation and make him a wide receiver? isn't saban known for coaching secondaries? wouldn't he want the cream of the crop back there?

Well were not in bad shape at all at safety, corner is the question mark. Barron was all SEC and Robbie Green is experienced and can step in at the other safety. Then Woodson, Lester, etc.

I think Keenan wanted to play WR, we could always use more playmakers, he always could end up on defense.

That is where KA wants to play and that is where Saban promised him a spot.

As for his brother, he was a 2 star dual threat QB. He's 6'4'' 185 (in high school, may be heavier now) and runs a 4.7 40 according to his rivals profile. He had offers from Temple, Middle Tennessee State and Buffalo.

has he been evaluated as a wide receiver? the evaluations i have seen of him were all at safety where his strengths are his tackling ability and his awareness...just because he wants to play wide receiver doesn't mean thats where he'll see the field at...do you think he would rank higher than the three 4* wide receivers you already have committed (meaning, is a top 15 wr prospect) ?

they claim he is equally impressive on both sides of the ball. Some claim he should be the number 1 player in the nation. I really want him in Crimson I just hate being held hostage with offering his brother who did not get a D1 sniff. If we were Alabama of 2007 then I could understand but I like taking 4/5 really good OL every class. They can make an avg rb look great.

I've seen most scouts say that he's a 5 star safety and 4 star WR. If you ever watch him on offense, he's pretty dominant. He pretty much single-handedly won the NC/SC all-star game from the wild cat position on the only offensive play he was in for. I think it was a fourth and short play and he ended up running for like a 30 yard TD to win the game.

The thinking is that he's such a good athlete that it doesn't matter where you put him, he'll make plays.

Bo Davis will be visiting Keenan Allen in his home tonight. I fully expect that, regardless of whether or not we find out publicly right away, this meeting will resolve the Allen situation one way or the other. Either he affirms his commitment to us or he goes elsewhere, and by the end of the night our staff should know. If he chooses to go elsewhere, pay close attention to Menzie because that is who we will almost certainly turn to. If you see hints of a committing from him, you can about bet your bottom dollar that Allen is gone.

Also, as Gentry Estes posts, it looks more and more like Allen and his brother will play together at the next level, so the only way to get Allen may be to offer his brother too

quote:

Allen, a five-star receiver/defensive back from Greensboro, N.C., committed to the Tide in November but continues to keep options open because of his half-brother, current college quarterback Zach Maynard, who left the program at Buffalo and is now searching for a new home.

As for Allen, he's still committed to the Tide. But from the sound of it, Saban may ultimately have to invest one of those precious few remaining scholarships for Maynard in order to land Allen, who many consider the Tide's top prospect currently committed.

LINK

quote:

Saban from when he was at the Senior Bowl on recruiting -

"I'm really not allowed to talk about recruiting right now," Saban said, "but we got a lot of commitments early on. Sometimes there's some other good guys out there. Then you've got some guys that might be changing their mind. You just try to manage it until you get there and get the best players. I know we've got a lot of good things going at Alabama. It's a great opportunity for a lot of these guys. Hopefully, they'll see that, fit in and be a part of what we want to continue to try to build in the future."

I do too.. we've got one more week of it though.

I've gotta feeling by this weekend, the cat will be out of the bag on who will be here to finish out the class and who won't be though.

I know. Hopefully it's like Trent last year and he stays with his committment and we don't have anything to worry about. But just never know with kids today and what they're thinking. Especially out of state ones. They're not tied down loyalty wise like a kid from the state would be, and Clemson would be closer too for him, so I can see that playing into it some.

Dabo is a good coach too, and from Bama.. a great recruiter.. that's another thing that could be playing a huge part of it. He's always recruited well.

I read somewhere on Twitter you were a cross-dresser. I paid that as much attention as what you just posted.
