I don't really have a dog in this fight but I do have a take on Auburn football and it is based on my man-crush for Gus Malzahn.
I believe Auburn Football, as long as Gus is the OC, will be not only one of the most effective offenses in the SEC, but the nation.
Gus has proven in his three years of college ball, with both SEC and C-USA talent, that the "hurry-up, no-huddle" and his re-introduction of the single-wing, dubbed "Wild-fill in the blank", that he can and will lead the nation in most offensive categories. Afterall, he is the lowly, little ole' HS coach this board made fun of three years ago. Here he is 3 years later with 3 Bowls, 3 Division Titles, and 2 Rivals OC of the Year awards.
Furthermore, and this is where you will probably mock me, but much like Texas has made a habit of pulling DC's from Auburn, Arkansas now seems to be geared for much of the same. I'm obviously speaking of Petrino and Malzahn. Keep in mind Malzahn interviewed for the Arkansas HC job before Petrino. Additionally, 99.9% of Razorback fans want Gus back in Fayetteville at the first reasonable opportunity.
So, there's my irrelevant 2 cents on Auburn. They are going to light up scoreboards and have a future HC on their sidelines.

Auburn has always been the most dangerous when they are "quiet". They've been the biggest busts when they are hyped in the preseason.
Could not agree more.

I'm glad they didn't. USC would have whipped them and the SEC wouldn't be as respected as it is today because of that.
Why is USC revered as some invincible team in 2004? Did you not watch them play Stanford, UCLA, California, or Oregon State? Two of these teams were .500 or worse and Oregon State was merely decent and all four of those teams almost knocked USC off.
