Let's say this is true, which it's not, it makes your "argument" that much worse.

There is a layer of grime that covers the legacy of an otherwise great coaching career, and in that way, Kiffin and LSU could not be a better fit.

Mardis Gras is about debauchery before Ash Wednesday

That’s what popular secular culture has turned it into. It’s supposed to be a feast day and time of celebration following the Epiphany prior to a 40 day period of fasting and reflection leading into Easter.

Everyone in here is debating NOLA and Mobile but truthfully many communities - especially rural communities - have always celebrated Mardi Gras. For example, Courir de Mardi Gras.

The same way that Christmas, St. Patrick’s day and other Christian holidays have been reframed.

Well damn ! The stupid Library Of Congress must be wrong !

Mardi Gras originated in the United States in Mobile, Alabama, not New Orleans. French settlers celebrated the first,,organized American Mardi Gras in 1703 at Twenty-Seven Mile Bluff, the original home of Mobile.

I'm not sure why your seeming self-worth is tied to Mardi Gras first being celebrated and then paraded in Louisiana. It wasn't, but that isn't good for you.

Ok you’re a self entitled idiot. The first Mardi Gras celebration was in 1699. It was even named point du Mardi Gras. A celebration was thrown for the holiday. The first parade was in the capital of Louisiana in 1703. The capital of Louisiana at that time was Mobile. So yes it was started in Louisiana. Has always been Louisiana. Yes Mobile still has it. But that doesn’t change the fact that it was and is Louisiana.

Do you know what the capital of Louisiana was in 1703?

The Library of Congress is using present day maps as explanation. But that doesn’t change the HISTORY of it.

Mobile was founded as the capital of colonial French Louisiana in 1702 and remained a part of New France for over 60 years.
Good job just ignoring that part of all of it.

So it began in MOBILE. ( which hasn't moved ) Fort Louis de la Louisiane, Mobile was the initial capital of the vast French Louisiana territory.

So after compendious study, and considerable angst, Mardi Gras began in Mobile.

Mobile Lousiiana , you Louisiana folk should be rightfully proud of this heritage !

All I said was it started IN Louisiana. And you started arguing me. I never said it wasn’t Mobile.

So you are trying to move the goal post like you were right all along while saying it wasn’t Louisiana. I’m glad you finally learned something. You lost this one bud. Just take the L.

If you lived in New York, would your mail come to New York, New York, England ? Because you know it started out as English.

( Oh my God now the bayou folk want to argue where Mobile is !)

This is no where near the same thing. And you should be ashamed that you even used it as your example.

Do you not know American history? We have some really uneducated people that don’t know history. They think the world started in the early to mid 1800s apparently.
