Other than Belichick, none of Sabans mentors/old bosses are still coaching.

Did Saban learn to cheat by illegally filming his opponents?

Or is that just a Belichick/NFL thing? He just got pinched for illegally filming the freaking Bengals Dude has problems

Saban is part of the reason Kiffin even has a job as a head coach right now. Dude was damaged goods when Saban hired him.

That Saban "mentored" Kiffin is a laughable assertion. Kiffin had been a head coach in the NFL, as well at two different P5 schools prior to going to Alabama.

Kiffin did more for Saban than Saban did for Kiffin, and that's a fact. Kiffin's only problem is that he's an attention whore. But don't make it sound like he is where he is today because he sat at Lord Saban's feet for a couple of years.

Nope, he's where he is because of his Daddy.

Which makes him a perfect fit

It's a good fit, but it's not perfect until he learns to pronounce 'diddy'.

I'm guessing you didn't actually watch the show where the quote came from.

I watched the show. Just came across as petty and sour grapes. Coaches aren't poached against their wills. If they leave Saban, it's because they chose to. Maybe he should look into the mirror as to why they left. All the coaches that were "poached" by Kirby and Pruitt were given substantial raises and multiple given on-field coaching jobs, something they weren't under Saban.

Saban never thought he was doing anything morally wrong when he left places that gave him great opportunities for opportunities he viewed as better. I just find it highly hypocritical for him not viewing things from their point of view and wanting better opportunities just like he has throughout his career.

Yep just like that other former Alabama douche at Clemson that forbids any current committed recruit from talking to other schools, yet he can recruit who he damn well pleases regardless if their committed to someone else

If they want to talk to another team, they're not fully committed.
Such an easy concept Gus even gets it. They told Cohen no thanks to a committed player because they caught him planning to playing the old switch-a-roo on signing day.

First of all, Kiffen was fired and left on the tarmac at USC.

After that point, after he was fired, no one wanted Freshwater, and Saban was laughed at for hiring him, and that's a fact. He was able to reproove himself working under Saban and yeah it was a mutually beneficial working relationship, but don't pretend like him working for Saban wasn't a huge benefit to Kiffin's career for the foreseeable future.

Taking coaches off the scrap heap and putting them on staff is what Saban is known to do. He did it with Kiffin (note the spelling). He did it with Sarkisian. Hell, he did it with Butch Jones.

My point remains, and you can't refute it. Saban didn't "mentor" Kiffin. He hired Kiffin to run his offense.

Kiffin could have had a job like FAU instead of working for Saban, but he chose to chase a ring at that time in his career. Of course it benefited him, but don't pretend that it didn't benefit Saban, either.
