They're excited based on what they saw at Tennessee, USC, and the Raiders? They probably don't even remember him when he had Leinart, Bush, White, and other super-stars at USC.

Our players were excited when Stud was calling plays or when we had the two headed monster as defensive coordinator. Doesn't mean shite.

There are a lot of threads from a year ago that need bumpage.

Dude's not humbled at all. In his mind none of the USC stuff was his fault. The fact that immediately found a job as OC of the best program in the country will only reinforce that.

Now post all of the tweets by non Alabama people saying the opposite.

I'm not saying it will be a good or bad hire but it is a non Saban like move for sure

Yeah it will be a short stay.

If he sucks, he'll get fired quick.

If he's good, he'll get a head coaching job somewhere soon.

This is worth it just to see all the backpedaling that Alabama fans are about to do. I gotta find me some 2009 stuff.

I remember when I first joined this site, it was a near consensus on here that Sark was the brains behind USC's offense while Kiffin was only there because of his name.

Now, Kiffin was the offensive mastermind behind one of college football's greatest offenses.

You can't make this shite up

I have never been a Bama "hater". But, this is a bit silly.

No one is fearful of Kiffen. Bama will be good, as usual. If Kiffen does well, it is no different than the status quo.

But, NO ONE is fearful of Kiffen

Yep. Not sure I would want a humble coach anyways. That would be lame. Kiffin isn't exactly an all-star hire but if he's the best available that wants the job that's what you take. I figure it's mostly just to let him groom a QB for two years then bounce for a mid-tier coaching job. Lots of bubble screens coming to Alabama.

Because we lack similar talent? We are currently absolutely loaded at the skill positions

Their reactions does sound like a lot of guys were not huge fans of Nuss

Bama fans shouldn't be spinning the hire.

It's a huge question mark.

Guy has a lot of baggage and character issues.

He's still unproven as a coach too.

Time will tell.

I thought this was a joke or PR stunt when I heard about it. Look at USC offensive numbers after he left this year!

You're saying that Saban hired/interviewed Kiffin for a position that wasn't open at the time?
