It's just humorous, considering how much UA fans bashed him, and now some will champion him as a great hire.

And a lot of people say that about Calipari, but I sure as hell would love to have him coaching in Tuscaloosa

He'll be in the booth and will barely ever talk to the media. That is the best way to handle Kiffin.

We aren't hiring him as a HC here.

NOBODY says the same things about Cal and Kif. Not one single person.

Both are arrogant. But, Cal has been an incredible success at every stop in college. Everyone recognizes his coaching prowess.

People say the same things about Saban and cal....they are both hard to deal with, assholes, etc..but GREAT COACHES.

Just imagine how much fun the gumps would be having if LSU or AU had made this hire. I can't believe the spin I'm seeing.

" Saban can keep him from going full douche" has got to be the worst reasoning I've ever seen.

Great hire !! Only Saban could have pulled this off. This will allow lane to learn from the Master.

Welcome to Bama Lane.

Oh man this might be even better than if Saban had gone to Texas.

This! So many people forget he was the CO-offensive coordinator.

That was more directed to the slime-ball comment.

Take that to the MSB, there will be a lot of people who disagree with this idea.

Send all CNS "photos" to lane.kiffin@gmail.com. I'm beginning a scrapbook of my time at Bama and wont send them to anyone.

Here are my honest thoughts. Kiffin worked very well with Crompton at Tennessee. Developing QBs is a definite strength along with his dedication to recruiting.

I am not a huge believer in him as a play caller though. We have seen a lot of stubbornness and not much creativity wherever he's been.

Well, the story on one of the other threads is that Bama realizes that the Big 12 offensive style is the wave of the future and that Bama is embracing it. With Bama leading the way, the SEC will start seeing 75-68 type of games. I can't wait!!
