1) I wasn't talking shite about So.Cal. Was actually a complimenting them for being able to dominate recruiting so much.
2) I certainly wasn't insulting SC because I believe that is on the eastern seaboard.

So.Cal was 69-48 throughout the '90s and had a 5-7 mark pre-Carroll (1st year in 2001). To say in the dumps is propaganda. Also rumors continue to circulate about violations So.Cal had while under Carroll and people are beginning to question thats why he jumped so quickly to NFL when he had the chance (though I am one who does not believe that is why he left, Carroll has also seemed like a man of too much character for that)

USC was 2-6 in the PAC in 2000 and 3-5 in 1999... they were lousy by PAC standards and deplorable by USC standards...

I'm taking a little jab here but while this would be not so unusual at South Carolina the USC people of Southern California consider this god awful because they are one of the best programs in the modern college football era (since say the 60s and 70s)

Anyway, the big point where i disagree with you was obviously (obviously IMO) where you reached to say Carroll was only a decent coach. Whatever you think of teh advantages of being coach at USC he took them to extraordinary levels of success over nearly ten years

And to the UT fan who seemed to think Kiffin had UT on the rise to winning the SEC I can only say your understanding of reality approaches that of your ex-coach.

Beating UGA in their worst recent season does not indicate UT's success... it indicates UGA was down (not because UT won, because UGA was so bad the balance of the year)... Anyway, next year would have been a down year for UT even if the weasel hadn't jumped ship (because of players lost)... and it's hard to see why UT would have been favored over teh teams i mentioned when they were all also recruiting at a high level (without as many the field problems and NCAA interest) and had all (except Chizik so far) demonstrated more success in teh SEC than the Kiffster
