Letting him stick around is to no real benefit to Ole Miss. Given how much he's choked in big games in the past, they might be better off without him for a single game/few games.
LSU wouldn't be letting him coach if it was the other way around either. Nor should they.
The SEC is going to benefit majorly if Ole Miss is not so gutted that it can't perfrom.

Weiss probably gives a shite about his reputation and isn't known to burn bridges and take whatever he can from a program.

Ehh I dunno that it’s anything other than cooler heads prevailing. It’s not exactly a great look for Lane to say he’s “allowing” Weiss to go back.
