Conveniently leaving out that 0-4 H2H record, 20-12 to 17-15 SEC record, average recruiting class rank of 6.2 for LSU and 12 for TAMU. All while LSU had two consecutive down seasons.

Sorry the facts show that A&M, since expansion, has gotten nearly identical football results to LSU and has done so while spending less on total coaching salary.
You must fall over a lot from all the spinning and backpedaling you've been doing.
Maybe if you spent all that big Aggy money on coordinators rather than overpaying your mediocre HC, you might actually be competitive one day.

You had like a total of 4 seasons with 10 wins or more before 2000.
Stop acting like lsu is supposed to win 10 or 11 games

So 15 years ago? Before we started hauling top 10-15 recruiting classes every year?
Gotcha.

the facts are simple. he did not make that in his first year, which coincided with their first year in the SEC. of course they went 10-2 and beat Bama. then the "rumors" began about him entertaining other offers, particularly in the NFL. so the loyal alumni ponied up to keep him.
even tho it sure seems like a huge mistake now, at the time it seemed like the best thing to do. the fact is no one really knows how any employee is gonna turn out. I formed my negative opinion of Sumlin in year two after Kingsburry left and their offense just didn't work well even with a Heisman winner. the man inherited a great OL and two friggin' awesome RB's and never took the pressure off of his QB by using the running game correctly. and really, the 5 million is not that much out of line in today's big boy football.
I want to be the Aggie version of you

As soon as you stop acting like A&M is supposed to be relevant.

Yeah this is the most reasonable post on this whole thread. Maybe even this whole website.

0-4 is not the same results.
There was one good aTm post here though. Sumlin has won a lot of games (regardless of OOC schedule), won bowl games, finish high a few seasons, Heisman winner, all while walking into the SECW. Only thing I wouldn't associate with him is the improvements to stadium and facilities. The SEC move did that, didn't matter who was coaching aTm. I wouldn't want his style of play at LSU but there are a lot of coaches that make a lot of money that are worse than him.

Apparently he doesn't think 15 years of success on the field and recruiting trail should raise expectations a bit.

Borrowing it sure isn't & neither is being leveraged to the hilt.
I keep hearing this "rich card" being thrown out. Have you seen the financial statements? Do you know how to read them?
Start with debt service & follow the trail. The shell game only works if you have enough willing parties & keep the revenue up.
The North Korean military laughs @ your financial prowess.

This is stupid even for a sip
Over 250 million is already covered by cash that has been received and the other 300 million in pledges will all be received in the next 12-18 months
Choosing to get a higher rate of return for the cash than we are paying for the bonds is smart money
