I think UK takes a step back this year at 7-5. I could easily see them sneaking another win out and getting up to 8-4, but I think that is their ceiling this year.

I say anywhere from 4-8 to 6-6. Maybe 7 or 8 wins with a couple of bounces. Our game with you guys is a toss up until we prove otherwise :-(
UK has one of the easiest schedules in the SEC this year. Even with that, they have the fewest returning starters and lost Snell, who was the key to their offense and Allen who was the key to their defense last season.
I'm not sure how you lose 16 TDs on offense and 17 sacks on defense and not see a drop off. No one else on their team came close to that production. That doesn't even include several other key contributors that are gone from last seasons team. I'm sure that you guys have some players in the wings that will be asked to step up.
I think Stoops has been a good coach for UK, but they take a step back from last season's dream team.

UK has a manageable schedule and they do have their starting QB coming back and their best receiver, but they lose one of the better running backs in the country.
More importantly, they lost almost their entire starting defense, which was one of THE BEST in the entire country last year. They only gave up 16.8 ppg, good for #6 in the country.
That 16.8 was a statistical outlier for UK, who the past 6 years had given up 28,31,27,31,31,31 PPG. So yeah, huge outlier, and the defense won't be nearly as good in 2019 because they are replacing a ton of guys, and Josh Allen isn't in college anymore. They guy was incredible and few if any teams can replace that kind of player the year after he leaves.
So the defense is going to come back down to earth.
That is bad when you consider UK only scored about 18 PPG in conference games last year. 2nd to last in the conference.
They may improve on that slightly, as their 5-year average on offense against the SEC is about 21-22 PPG.
I don't expect the offense to improve as much as the defense regresses, however, because they still lost Snell, 2 of their top 3 WRs, Conrad at TE, and 3 OL.
I think 7-8 wins sounds about right for them.

Sir, that is an insult. An insult, I say. There is no chance we’ll lose to the line beards this season.
