The talk here has not been about revenge. It's basically just been "finally we get a decent team to play after a month of awful ball clubs."

Sounds like you got sailed on. No one expects us to win today, including Arkansas fans.

Maybe. The talk from your players has been about revenge.

Really?...so you checked with all the other hogs and they said that they were just kidding? I'm glad to hear that because they had me convinced that they were a bunch of really stupid bastards!

No dick riding here, pal. Being a Bama fan, I've come to appreciate elite athletic teams and enjoy watching them perform. If you'll look back at my posts, I've said from the start of the season that this UK team was going to be a monster and would go undefeated. Unlike some folks who couldn't recognize a silk purse from a sow's ear (pun intended), I appreciate great teams, not envy or covet them...but that's just me.

I never bet on sports, but if I did, I would put money on the Hogs. I think UK wins, but too many of their games, against solid competition have been closer.

You're getting ready to see a "focused" UK team today, my friend. It ain't gonna be pretty.

Kentucky was only a 10 point favorite vs LSU

And I bet you were a Seahawks fan until the final pass, when you became a Patriots fan.

Enh, I could see it. Kentucky is about due for a statement game and I am sure Coach Cal has been riding them hard about dropping three in a row to the Hogs.

For Arkansas its a no lose situation. We lose, even if we lose big, we are still dancing this year and the worst that happens is we maybe drop a rank in seeding. If we pull off a win then we probably climb up a spot or two in our seed. Either way we are still playing with house money in this game.

I agree. I hope the Hogs, Wildcats and every other SEC team goes deep into the tourney...I'll be pulling for them.
I don't like the situation that UK has managed to get themselves in, BUT you've got to tip your hat to Calipari & Co. and just enjoy watching the juggernaut he's assembled play (if you're a real basketball fan).

It is a Kentucky team that has the potential to be historically great. Even though we will catch a heavy ration of abuse if we lose to them here on the forum there isn't any shame in losing to a team that could be one of the greatest.

Of course I'd love to beat them. You want to beat the best.

I think the SEC could do fairly well for themselves in the Big Dance. As much as it pains me to say it I'm cheering for Ole Miss to get in because I think in the right bracket they can make some people nervous. There are some good teams in the SEC this year, its just hard to notice them because Kentucky has put together a monster squad.

Were you at home?

Add together that we still have the "suck arse away from home" stigma, revenge factor, and the fact we won't be sneaking up on them this year, this line is about right and we'll lose by double digits.

Thankfully as pointed out, we don't need this win.

ETA: We'll be favored at home against LSU so your point is pretty moot.

Once The Tourney starts, I hope all the SEC folks will pull for the conference teams to advance. The league needs its image improved....hell, I wish we all pulled for each other during the bowl games, but I guess that's too much to ask for.

The question is when will Bama bounce back in basketball?

I'm not asking to troll or be snide, I think the SEC is a lot more fun to play in when Alabama has a solid basketball team. If Bama and Mizzou both manage to return to their usual form in basketball it would give the SEC some great match ups to put on TV and draw attention to the conference.

If a gun was to my head and I had to choose, I'd bet on Arky.

But I'm not touching that line with my free will and money

That's a line that KY can certainly cover at home.

Vegas lines are set to get the maximum wagers placed, not so much on what they think the winning spread will be.

All that said I hope we can cove 14.5....just don't see it happening against this team in Rupp.
