You can't just claim a year if you didn't even get a selection in the records book. Literally no one does that.

Kansas had a kickazz football program 107 years ago. They went unbeaten, no championship awarded because they were a Midwest team and were not considered to be on the same level as Yale and Princeton...

I'm not mad. This isn't going to turn you into a better program than we are. Its just funny they would make a trophy when a national champion trophy was never awarded them

Kentucky should by all rights have it, but it was such a different world back then. Bowls didn't count, and that's why it is the Sooners and not Kentuckys
