I didn't find out UK won until at least an hour after the game. We got hammered here yesterday with high winds.

Travel was banned last night due to trees on the roads and over half the county has no electricity.

I had a tree across my driveway that I spent most of today clearing. But CATS won at Arkansas. All in all not a bad day.

Glad to hear that it was just across the driveway. Saw lots of tree damage driving around today. Went and helped out some friends in the Highlands who had a big oak down and went and helped my Dad with the generator (he doesn’t have power as well). These were two houses in the neighborhood where I grew up.

Oh, I’m fine. Ranting and raving. My heart goes out to everyone who have been hurt or impacted by the storms.

I was leaving work Friday and had to turn around because a telephone pole was laying across the railroad tracks and a train was blocking the crossing. Ended up having to reroute myself twice due to downed trees.

Brutal winds yesterday.

I consider myself very lucky considering what happened to others. Just awful sore today. LOL.

I hope your dad is OK. Five people across Kentucky were killed in the storms.

Yeah he’s doing alright. Thankfully neither one of those houses were his, one was just down the street though. He’s an old railroad baw so he just kind of toughs it out. Have my Grandmother over today using our washer and dryer and hanging out.

Their neighborhood is full of big, old oaks. That rain that came beforehand really saturated the ground so once the wind came through (79 mph gusts recorded) it was enough to take some out.

Have seen several trucks in the area from Missouri, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania (LGE has a co-op with Penn) but one of the linemen we talked to yesterday said they’re getting held up due to running out of parts. So they’re at a stand still in some areas due to that.

Yep. Started when they were still L&N, then CSX. Worked for them about 47 years.

Glad to hear he is OK. A huge Bur Oak on Harrodsburg Road snapped off about 15 feet above ground. That tree Has to be over 200 years old by its size. Huge old trees blown down on the Henry Clay estate. Edit: On news tonight 300–500-year-old tree.

There are barns flattened around near me and houses with trees in the living room. Lots of plank fencing damaged by falling limbs. My house and barns escaped the destruction. I got off real lucky.

I do work with LGE-KU and they send people to other areas when storms hit there. It is a sharing cooperative with other power companies because no single one can staff up to meet an extraordinary incident. We all like to gripe when the power is out but those guys do amazing work in emergencies like this

Yeah they've had a staging area near our house with several trucks from out of town. It sounds like they're all over today, thankfully the weather has stayed nice enough for them to keep working.

Ah come on why wouldnt you want to go in? Think of the plastic plants, the networking from seeing coworkers face to face, and of course the company culture

So this is a bit delayed but I didn’t get to really pay a lot of attention to the game the other day I was slaving away- I did check the score now and then but that’s about it- so belated congrats to KY and sorry about the weather/damage y’all had.
