Why would you not pay him his entire buyout? Makes 0 sense you hired him and negotiated a buyout clause, you are now firing him thus you should pay 100% of his buyout. Under what grounds should he take any less?

Enforcing morality clauses b/c the guy allegedly had a girlfriend when MANY LSU head coaches have had girlfriends while married. I don't think this helps us with Kiffin.

You’re right. Separation agreements are never ever negotiated. Never ever. Never. They’re unheard of. Just never. It never happens. No one ever does it. No one.

haha yeah probably not, or maybe take that clause out if you hire Kiffen.

Also, it would be hilarious to see a university in court try and enforce that when all our universities do shady shite and claiming morality just because a guy had a girlfriend when legally married as it relates to his job is a hilarious reach just to save a few bucks.

it's also not something that is actually happening.

lsu has no leverage. their press is throwing shite at the wall and spreading misinformation.

Obviously if he agrees to take less on his own accord thats very different than the University trying to strong arm him and threatening him in any way to take less.

Big boy pants should be worn when money like this is involved.

I know we have a bad reputation as Louisianians and this situation with BK and his buyout and morality clause doesn't help us one iota. Plus, we have a Governor involved in BK's firing. That looks like some Mayberry bullshite with too many cooks in the kitchen. This will turn off some coaches especially established coaches.

a lot of delusional wishful thinking coming from the coonasses right now.

they are kidding themselves if they think they have any leverage to make kelly take less than his full buyout.

I believe this too. The entire LSU athletic infrastructure is trying to save face b/c they got taken for a ride by BK and Trace Armstrong.

Thanks for the info, so what I am hearing is LSU is trying to NOT pay part of his buyout strictly due to a morality clause and the morality is he was unfaithful to his wife?

Doucet just said they settled for $27m

From a source I trust, this is what I was told about LSU Football firing head coach Brian Kelly. The powers that be met with Kelly Sunday morning. There was no discussion about assistants. Kelly was told he was out, period. LSU was moving on without him. Kelly's buyout was negotiated down to $27 million, about half of what he was owed. This was done through the violation of morality clauses in his contract. Louisiana governor Jeff Landry met with the LSU Board of Supervisors before Kelly's firing. Landry did not invite LSU athletic director Scott Woodward to this meeting.

There is less than no evidence LSU has terminated for him cause as they did not. There is no cause.

Anyone in this thread saying they are leveraging a morality clause to terminate for cause will not be able to provide a source that has not been fully disproven, as no such source exists.

This has been disproven. There has been no resolution to Kelly's buyout.

The LSU fans desperately vomiting out misinformation in every thread about this topic aren't worked up tho. Adorable.

But doesn’t appear to have much conviction about what he said.
