the best part of a Jimbo hire though would be the Aggy melt
No, the best part would be quoting the endless LSU posts about him being an overpaid bum and how terrible of a coach he is.

No need
No matter who we hire, half the fanbase will hate him immediately

That's normal pretty much everywhere. This will be special.

Hedging?
I've said this since before they announced the firing of O
Hating our HC is one of our most respected traditions
You name a dream team of coaches, CFB, NFL, living or dead and you'd have a ton of LSU fans that hate them

I never understand why people make posts like these.
You know nothing about LSU's finances. We do what every school does. Our boosters have already donated the money to pay O's buyout. Nothing is coming from LSU's bank account on that.
If we didn't have the money to hire a new coach, don't you think we would have just kept O?
I mean do you people even use that thing in your head called a brain before you post?
Oh brother... some of us ABSOLUTELY know about finance, and as public universities all of that information is publicly available.
Have you seen LSU's balance sheet? They are basically insolvent.
LSU Net Position (end of 2020): $(105,451,619)
(that's a NEGATIVE net position of over $100 million)
LSU Financial Net Position
Texas A&M Net Position (end of 2020): $5,532,558,293
(that's a POSITIVE net position of over $5.5 BILLION)
Texas A&M Financial Net Position

HC money comes from rich alumni. Throw all that other stuff out the window

No kidding, but it also mirrors the alumni willingness do donate and support their alma matter. A&M just finished a 4.2 Billion campaign, that’s on top of the 1 billion that we raised at the same time we were building the stadium 5/6 years ago.

You don't think LSU alumni will throw big money at their next hire? I fully expect it.

I'm sure they will. I also have full faith they will butcher it yet again and we'll be having the same conversation four years from now.

I’m not saying they wouldn’t, I’m simply saying that they would fall short vs A&M if it came down to money! (If A&M thinks “x” coach is their Saban)

LSU fans are insane and spoiled. Orgeron took LSU to an NC and he is a great coach and great ambassador for LSU. I don't get it but whatever....spoiled, entitled brats.

Define “not having done much”.
A NC, conference championships, and multiple NY6 bowl wins don’t account for much? Ok, only his time A&M is a single NY6 win so far but point out any other coach in the SEC west not named Nick Saban that has done more, or Smart in the east, I’ll wait. The only one that had done more just got let go mid season over at LSU.
It’s funny to see lsu fans acting like he’s such a terrible hire when he’d likely be the best coach they could possibly acquire. Saban and Swinney aren’t coming, so other than Jimbo who has a little history there you’re looking at hiring an up and coming coach that doesn’t have skins on the wall yet.
For the record, I don’t think Jimbo leaves A&M so LSU fans can quit trying to act like they don’t want him to hedge their bets. I’m sure Woodward will make a respectable, solid hire, but I doubt it’s got the splash of hiring away a coach with a national title to his name. Guess time will tell.
