Try it...watch it multiple times focusing on different individuals each time.

I've actually sat in a press box with high school officials after a game doing exactly that after a team started a brawl with my team to make sure that all of the guilty parties get written up and suspended. You literally have to watch it 15-20 times, only focusing on one player each time. In my case, one of my players who had been ejected on the field by officials actually had the ejection reversed. In the heat of the moment, officials make mistakes...in that case, the official had the number right but the jersey wrong. Also, that game was stopped and didn't resume.

Self in his postgame interview said there was still time on the clock so everyone that left the bench would be suspended. Wasn't that all of them?

If there was time on the clock, every player leaving the bench is subject to suspension, and the head coaches are subject to penalties for not controlling their benches.

This is also why the SEC fines universities up the arse for repeatedly letting the fans storm the court at the end. Imagine the scene if that had happened.

What's Auburn's next fine up to now?

Was with some clients last night at dinner when that came on. Seriously, several KU players will be suspended awhile, or at least they should be. And whoever the dude with the white pants was, as well. He threw the first punch

That was ugly, and one of the guys at dinner was like "that is why I don't watch college sports. They are no better than the pro teams, and act just as stupid"

I thought it was interesting since you don't hear about this as much in college, but incidents like this are common in the MLB, NBA, and NFL ... Hope the NCAA comes down hard on KU.

I like the dementia old man sitting in the bottom right corner to the right of the old man who stands up. That little dude is clueless about what's going on next to him.

you don't see it as much in the NBA. Those dudes play too much basketball to have time to fight. There are plenty of dudes sitting on the bench making 20 million dollars. They gonna stay on the bench when things start getting out of hand. No need to risk injury or fines when you aren't doing anything and the guy getting in the fight likely gonna be traded next year.

Tennessee, congrats on your upcoming win over Kansas. They might only have 5 walkons playing.

I am waiting to see who all they suspend. It would probably take a lot to win at Kansas.

It depends on how hard the Big 12 and NCAA want to come down. Everyone except the 10 players on the court were ejected for leaving the bench during a fight situation. For everyone saying that the game was over, (a) there was time still on the clock when the ball went out of bounds, and (b) no game is ever over until the referee certifies the final score at the scorer's table. It's the responsibility of the head coach to make sure that the coaching staff and players know this and that they control their team and keep everyone at the bench area.

The first example in the NCAA case book under officials' jurisdiction:

A.R. 13. Team A is ahead by one point. The game-ending horn sounds with the
ball loose at the division line. Clearly after playing time has expired, A1 taunts
B1
. The referee, before checking/approving the final score, sees this action by
A1 and assesses a CLASS A technical foul against A1. Team A’s coach pushes the
referee after the technical foul is called. The referee assesses a flagrant 2 technical
to Team A’s coach, ejects the coach and awards Team B four free throws.
RULING: The referee is correct. The officials’ jurisdiction does not
end until the approval of the final score.
Until the officials’ jurisdiction
ends, an official may call a technical foul, correct a correctable error
(Rule 2-12), or correct a bookkeeping mistake by the official scorer.
(Rule 2-4.3)

NCAA Officials' Case Book

No. There is an angle that clearly shows that he dropped it. The coach who looks from one angle like he knocked the chair out didn't actually touch it.

multi game suspension authority for stuff like this is with conference, not NCAA. They may voice an opinion or maybe even asked for a suggestion, but it's b12 that will make a decision. I seriously doubt they will choose to suspend everyone who left the bench even though that is the letter of the law.

Same issue as mass suspension for rematch game. Hurts the purse, doesn't really accomplish anything. Neither B12 nor SEC want to see Tennessee play KU: Walk-On Edition. I can see Desousa getting anywhere between 8 games to cut from team, I think suspending him for remainder of league play sounds about right. But KU may take the opportunity to cut ties with him with all the NCAA violations heat surrounding him already. But I gotta say desousa was clearly picking up the chair for show, he wasn't gonna whack anyone. you cant do that but lets not pretend he was about to use it. we should be thanking him for giving us such great memes.
