Between Blake and Ely, we have enough undersized QBs IMO.

We were a spread option team under crowton.
At least I think we were suppose to be. On second thought I'm not sure what the hell we were.

If the top OT recruit in the country was telling coaches he always wanted to try out QB, I guarantee you they would be lining up down the street to promise him some snaps at QB in practice
disagree. The cost in experience is too great

All the coaches in the SEC seem to do it. It's very disingenuous and I wish the kids could see through it.
You think YOU are more perceptive than Shep? That kid is sharp and has his head on right. He APPRECIATES the chance to try and thanked the coaches for it.
I love the guys that think that these young men are all dopes that can't think for themselves. RS is far, far from some dumb rube that can be conned.

Overall the recruiting board just seems to be your run of the mill recruiting forum. Kind of creepy but ours are just as bad or worse.
And yes this kind of stuff is disingenuous but its glass houses stuff. Everybody does it.

Ive quit posting over there as much. I'm a homer, but damn even I'll admit the chances of an OOS recrui,t with no prior connections to LA , coming here is slim

Not really. LSU still ran a Les Miles branded offense.

If the next Chris Samuels, Orlando Pace, Walter Jones, etc came to Miles, Saban, Richt, Spurrier, or whoever and said "coach, I really want to play for you, but do you think you could let me take a few snaps at QB during practice? I have always wanted to play it but they said I was better on the line" there isn't a single one of them that wouldn't agree to at least give him one day's worth of snaps at QB. They would all naturally move him back to OL the next day, but they would absolutely give him at least 1 snap at QB if it meant the difference between signing him and not signing him.

I never said they were all stupid. A lot of them are, and a lot of them aren't. All of them are teenagers though, and all teenagers love when people tell them what they want to hear.

You think "a few snaps at practice" is what sold RS?

I understand. I wasn't bashing LSU in any way. The kid was a dumbass for not going to a spread team though.
Shep made the right choice for him as he is preparing for pro ball as a receiver/special teams guy. He loved the campus and atmosphere from day one. He continues to recruit for LSU.These guys have more in their lives than football. If all you got out of high school was playing football, then you didn't have much of a life.

I work with his brother and he stated Justin is 95% sure he is going to LSU because the coaching staff told him he could play QB. 5'11" 175 any thoughts.
my thoughts are they encouraged him to come to LSU and try out - but they may not really have a scholarship (and want him to walk on or greyshirt)
