Here's my opinion
WORST FANS EVER!!!!
Ok, I'M JOKING. Very good fans. Didn't hear one (seriously, not one mean thing said) coming from any of their fans.
I am very appreciative for this.
A couple of my thoughts:
1. It would easily be one of the prettier SEC campuses 2 weeks ago. However, it's hard to judge in the middle of fall/winter. The leaves had already fallen, but I could imagine how it would look with the red/orange leaves and those rolling hills.
2. Fans were pretty "drugged." Meaning they have had a rough season and the edge of winning/losing had been taken away. Most were just there to enjoy the game.
3. Facilities are very new and very nice and VERY loud for only holding 70,000 plus.
4. Why the hell did the stadium stairs feel like a mixture of concrete and plastic? Was very strange.
5. I REALLY wanted to go out on Dickson. Very cool bar setting, but the nephew with me made that impossible. I felt like I was being held back as I was walking to my car.
6. Overall, great time. However, I would like to see that place when the fans are a little more enthusiastic (rightfully most weren't - see above) and when all the students were there. I bet there is much more tailgating and much more fun to be had. I also would like to see it at night.
7. COLDEST DAMNED GAME EVER. It really wasn't that cold in the morning, but by noon, when the 20 mph wind kicked in, I was officially a pussy. I mean, it felt like it was about 25 degrees.
With that said, I will be back and hopefully it is not on Thanksgiving weekend anymore. It would make everything much better. I am not going to rank it against other SEC 'experiences' until that happens (to be fair).
I appreciate the hospitality and game!

I really want to check out Fayetteville.

Glad you enjoyed your visit.
Such a dreadful season took a toll on the fanbase. Before the season started, I would have told you the atmosphere would have been better than 2010 Alabama, or 2006 USC. It just didn't unfold that way this year.

Good review Duckie. Arkansas is one of the seven SEC venues i've never been to. I like hearing about fans road trips...... I'd like to make it there one day if i hit the powerball.

You were completely correct about the seating Getting into section 222 was like sneaking into the White House.
Area was really nice though.

As a sidenote, Fayetteville is much larger than I thought.

About the bleacher steps:
You notice that the stadium sits in a ravine (holler, draw, whatever). The original stadium was just built into those hillsides, and was all concrete. At some point walking up you transition to the metal bleachers.
It was cold as frick, and yeah, Fayetteville fans are a world away from LR fans overall. Its more alumni, etc. Tailgating is hard when you're lugging stuff up our steep hills.
The whole atmosphere was very "meh" by Fayetteville standards. We've had a rough year.

Makes sense.
And, I wasn't expecting to be blown away because of the season.

I enjoyed Fayetteville. Nice Stadium (lower Deck). Tailgate I went to was one of the best nonLSU ones Ive been to. And it wasnt that cold if you were long underwear. Nice Airport for a college town. Tower did a good job getting planes out quickly unlike those arse clowns in Tuscaloosa. My favotite trip in a long time.

That's where we sit if we have normal tickets. Mainly for the buffet's of food in the indoor area and the access to the if it starts raining like it did against UK earlier this year and Ole Miss a couple years ago.
Fayetteville is right at 100k when school is in session. I think the entire NWA metro is around 500k right now.
Glad you enjoyed your trip, and with the right hire in a week, your next trip should be much more lively. Even though we lose Wilson and Cobi, we have a very young team that showed a lot of promise yesterday.

Also when they finish with the stadium expansion in a few years, that should add to the noise level.
Plans are to add club seating of around 8k in the north end zone. When the team comes out of the locker room, they will come through the north concourse where fans can access, ala Cowboy Stadium.

I had this happen to me once. I had my little cousin with me. I think he was about 9 at the time. I made a sweet deal with him. I told him if he would wait in the car for two hours, I would let him drive us all the way back home. It was a win for both of us.

Fayetteville is crazy legit for a roadtrip. I also think Arkansas has the most underrated ladies in the SEC if not the nation. I was stunned at the talent walking around when we were there

Wow that's a pretty redneck thing to do...

You'll have to visit again when the football season is...better, to get the full experience.
Glad you enjoyed Fayetteville!

I can't believe you would actually admit to doing this on a message board. Wow!!
That is child abuse. You should be locked up.
If I was the kid's father, I would beat the living shite out of you.
