First Georgia QB to hit 400+ since Murray. God is feels great to have a legit QB again. Sucks he wasn't healthy earlier

100% crapola. Not all that Smart Kirby made it clear at his presser last night that Daniels was actually playing scout team QB and helping to prepare the defense. Kirby Smart is a moron when it comes to QB evaluation. The kid moved quickly, spun away from the rush, and had zero need for a knee brace.

LOL I thought that too until JT said yesterday after the game he still isn’t 100% healthy. He was clearly limping throughout the game.

JT has been more than a good company man through this process of not playing. He knows very well what bulldog perception is out there about Kirby's QB IQ. Kirby is not going to risk injury against that defense on the scout team if Daniels can't move. He's not risking further injury if he's not healed up. That movement last night in the pocket says as much. The only thing wrong with Daniels is that he didn't have a coach who believed in him. That presser last night with Smart trying to explain it all said it all. These guys aren't near as smart as we make them out to be.

It’s still no-contact for QBs on the scout team

Contact isn't the issue, freedom of movement was and is. He's sitting on the bench watching a walkon flounder and he's not wearing a brace. Did you see his fast-twitch movement in the pocket? That didn't just happen in the last week. Either Daniels was coming out eventually and proving Kirby a prophet by playing poorly or he was coming out and proving that Kirby is tone-deaf when it comes to offensive acumen.

We got the answer. And frankly, you can be thankful the stupidity is over.

And he limped back to the huddle after doing it. Funny you don’t mention that.

Smart just isn't when it comes to quarterback decisions.

In his post-game news conference, Smart elaborated, and defended the coaching staff’s earlier decisions to start Bennett and Mathis and not play Daniels. He said that, in the preseason scrimmages when Daniels was given a lot of reps with the first team, “his mobility and decision-making wasn’t great,” and the offensive brain trust decided to go with a pair of quarterbacks who were able to run.

Kirby Smart recruits like Nick Saban and has the head coaching acumen of a Will Muschamp.

The pass before that one was even better (and an even worse drop)

Strange night. We had 3-4 dropped passes and then had 3-4 passes that easily could have been incomplete that the receivers made great catches on.

I didn't see it. JTD had a hell of a debut. Of the 10 incompleted passses, 3 were batted at the line and 4 were dropped.

Right off hand (If i am remembering correctly) One of Burton's TDs, Pickens Td, and Kearis TD were all pretty good catches. Not saying that they were poorly thrown. Daniels put them so the "D" could not make a play on them, but they were far from routine catches.

ETA
The one I might back off of in my opinion would be Kearis Jackson's TD. It was a well thrown ball, but Kearis Jackson while falling backward. It was a tough catch, though.

All were thrown well, but all were good catches that could have been dropped. Had Jackson dropped hi he would have been roundly criticized, but it was a tough catch.

Heard rumblings Kirby is going to bench him. He doesn’t like having a QB taking all those risks

He singlehandedly won that game for UGA. We dominated the line of scrimmage and tried to play press man coverage all night, and he answered the call. He threw daggers through my heart several times.

I question the Cover 0 coverage on 3rd and long a couple times, but that doesn’t take away from how he played. He is excellent.
