I still have nightmares about Rohan to Reed

Obviously to this point Reed had a better career. JJ is just a true soph though. When his college career is over, he might be better than Reed. We'll see. I wouldn't trade him for another receiver anywhere.

I would think that until Saban can land another big name like Julio, what we're seeing this year is going to be the extent of his career. Why would anyone neglect doubling Julio when Alabama doesn't have many other established threats?

C'mon dude, are you serious?
Bowman and Bell are on campus and have been doing really well. Bell is crazy fast. Then there's Corey Grant, DeAndrew White, Ronald Carswell, all great receivers coming in next year.

Julio has done nothing this year though Alabama is in a qb crisis as bad as ours.

The receivers that you mentioned have combined for one reception this year. What part of established threat do you not understand?

My bad.
But even then, we have McCoy, Maze, Peek, and Hanks. They've all proven to be great receivers, it's just McElroy that's having the trouble.

Josh Reed, now
There is a lot of football left in 2009 and now that we've reached the so called meat of the schedule maybe he'll get it gear.
In 2008 JJ was the real deal and he'll be back giving yellow you hats the piggy back rides come Nov 7th.
Enjoy
This
and this
and he tackels better than most
1.04 mark and 1.54
Funny who thought BAMA could be 7-0 with JJ having an off year.

I just want a BAMA fan to honestly explain to me why Julio is so great in their minds. Besides the YouTube clip from the Spring Game 08, what has he done to warrant so much praise.

REALLY? I could see Ingram, but I mean cmon -- Julio might not even be top-10 in the country.

I went and looked at their stats. Seems to be about 15 catches for 200 yards across the board. That's good all around, but not overly great. As inept as our passing game is, LSU still has two receivers at 300+ yards.
I think the most important thing to look at though, is if those four are so great, why continue to double Jones? What I mean is, if you have another very very good threat on your team, why would opposing defenses put man coverage on them?

Julio makes those receivers good threats, since no matter what, every team tries to double cover him.
Plus, with Ingram/Richardson in the backfield, who needs amazing receivers?

bama fans can't take people saying anything negative about their player.
"would you want julio on your team? /thread"
lame

LSU fans are so insecure. And to whoever said we have a 'QB crisis' is fricking stupid.

And what I'm saying is, Alabama needs another receiver that is good of his own accord, rather than one who is good because he's seeing single coverage all day. That is, if Julio is going to have the kind of career that he should.

You got me there.

I can't wait to watch Peterson and Jones and match up... no flame here.. I just think it'll be a good match up to watch all game.

65 receptions for 1,127 yards and 10 touchdowns
94 receptions for 1,740 yards and 7 TDs
3k yards, 17 TDs.. and this is even a discussion?
Julio would be the #3 WR for LSU right now FWIW, not saying much.. cause I think he's like the #3 option for Alabama too
