He did exactly what he needed to do. There were 3 groups of people that he needed to impress, and he did a great job with all 3.
First is the boosters. A ton of them are pissed after the shite Gary and Scott pulled last week, and rightfully so. I am sure it’s not 100%, but most old white guys (aka our booster base) love that old school football enthusiasm.
Second is are the players he needs to recruit. That includes our current roster, current commits and guys who are in the portal. From early reports, those guys really liked it and connected with it.
Third was the fans. Everyone was worried that he would be a repeat of the Human Beta Blocker Billy Napier. He did a great job distinguishing himself from Billy. He said all the right things that show he was coached up on what they hated about Billy and he presented the exact opposite.
Most fans are probably like me right now, and will be in wait and see mode until staff hires are made and how the roster shapes up. But he definitely built up some good will.

Yeah. According to Sumrall, Lane and Sumrall decided he was the best fit for Florida. Just seems odd. I do think he could do well, I was onboard for Sumrall at Auburn.
