Does Gruden even have a grand total of three years coaching college ball ?

Won't matter. The only difference is that you need to have this personality with the players to recruit them. Gruden already has that built up from his time announcing football. Everyone acts like the guy forgot what it took to get a team to the super bowl. He got complacent and bored....hence him just commentating.

Of course the transitison won't matter
Arkansas is Quaterback U
Brohm was not a blue chipper
The NFl took the coked-out Matt Jones as a QB
The next guy at Arkansas does not inherit a mess

Any more bold statements ?

yea shite doesn't work out like office space where you can just frick off and not focus all day and get a promotion. Usually that shite gets you fired. obviously he drew his check as long as he could.

Atleast chuckie won't be hiring his whores to the athletic department. Plus it gives us an excuse to get John Daly more involved with our University.

he's a super-bowl winning coach. At the time, Gruden was the youngest head coach ever to win a Super Bowl.

And he was fired afterwards

also the winningest coach in Buccaneers history.

Probably not that impressive

I'm down with John Gruden to Tennessee. It's a win win. Would be nice to have a competitive game with Tennessee again, or on the flip side watch Gruden either A)fail miserably or B)Have success and go all Kiffin on the Vols... Bring on Chucky.

I doubt he ever coaches here, but if he does, there's no way he would leave like Kiffin did.

Gruden is out of his damn mind, if he thinks he can come in to the CFB ranks and out coach the best in the biz... I find that very comical.

You're out of your mind if you're already assuming he couldn't win in college.

Sort of the inverse of (practically) guaranteeing his dominance over Saban before he ever coaches a game, right?

I certainly don't think he could come in and walk over Saban from day 1. That said, if he's not a lazy recruiter, he'll win in college.

What I said was admittedly rather ambiguous. I apologize. I was actually taking a shot at what volfan30 implied earlier in the thread.

Fair enough. I think the two risks with Gruden are ability to evaluate talent and whether or not he can adapt to dealing with younger kids instead of pros. If he can do both, I have little doubt he would win big.

Not sayin Gruden would fail but the hash marks would effect an offensive player call coming from the NFL (bill o'brien, jon gruden) than a head coach with a background on D (pete carroll, nick saban)

I didn't suggest that, I just said Saban would shite him on the collegiate level, and everyone knows it.

edit. forgot to mention, Gruden already looks like hes smelling shite all the time...let the shitting begin.
